Need some help with a piece of music?

I have my first figure skating pairs tournament this Christmas which I'm so so incredibly excited for and we're looking into getting some inspiration music wise before we begin choreography. We would both definitely like to skate to classical so I have a few pieces I'm really struck by, so I'd like to know which, if any, you like :)

Hey, what an honour... we can help determine the song you and your partner will perform on!
I'm not a specialist, but when I heard the first song, "New World Symphony", I just instinctively imagined people figure skating on it.
A lage portion of the second song was quite silent, It's hard to imagine skating on that melody. But you're the expert of course... you'll know if it can be done!
The Tchaikovsky song seems to go pretty fast, there as well I don't have the experience to judge if it yould be appropriate. My imagination sees skaters making many fast moves on this melody.
So, nr 1 is my winner!

Hey Hans! :) My favourite is the first aswell, my partner's choice is the second lol so you can tell how different we are. I skate best when I skate at high speeds so I like the tempo and pacing in the New World Symphony :)

Just curiousness: what would be a realistic ambition for your first tournament?

This piece starts off slow, but it develops really well. don't know though, it's not super "Christmassy," but it has that glide to it that makes sense with movement.

Or alternatively, this piece is very Christmassy but it's also more romantic if you will. don't know how well it'd go with movement.

Skip to about 2:50 for the first track to experience the climax of the piece, most of it's pretty quiet, but it suddenly rises and rises.

Oh my goodness, I haven't heard the ice sculpture music from Edward Scissorhands in years, it's just so beautiful. Some parts are a little slow for the jumps but it's just so... I have to show it to my partner now, I love it :)

I think it could also have really cool costumes, like if you remember the girl was wearing this long white nightie that almost touched the ground, and Edward of course was wearing the black suit. Dunno, but I think it'd be a little more unique than say One World Symphony. Of course those are all beautiful pieces of music, I just prefer Ice Dance.

I have a white nightie! :P The thing is I skate better at pace so I've always tried to choose music which reflects my skating style so NWS seemed like a good choice because there is the change in pacing throughout which would be ideal for lifts and allow us to vary the speed/style a bit. But this is just beautiful and I have to love the music to skate to it :)

Yeah, I can understand that, skating is very reliant on moving so the One World Symphony does make sense. I'm sure whatever you choose it will end great.

Out of those three Dvorak's New World Symphony is my favourite. Otherwise I would use the Tchaikovsky. I don't think I like the middle one as much :)

I think they're all nice, but most likely all have been used before in skating tournaments. Why not step outside and do a classical interpretation of a pop/rock song? I have one in mind, but can't post link.

Both of us tend to prefer classical but this will be my first tournament in 6 years so we're trying to not do anything majorly challenging lol just a clean performance to get us through. But if you have one in mind, you can always message me with it if you can find the link, we're open to anything :D

go to YouTube and look for Ray Wilson doing a classical version of Genesis' Entangled. The girl on violin is so awesome, her name is Barbara Szelagiewicz.

That is a beautiful song :) I especially love the violin, that's got me wanting to find some violinists now lol. I have to bear in mind how the music will fit choreography and the part with the violin has a fluidity that would fit perfectly with the style we're after :) thank you!
