Why TF Am I So Teeny Tiny?

I'm 17 and only 5ft 1 and in proportion so really slim compared to everyone else! When we're lined up as a class I look like a mini figurine! It's so hilariously upsetting my parents were average to slightly short height, and all of my siblings have turned out teeny tiny too! it's probably normal but I need support guys, I'm tired of being used as an armrest!

Well, this is personal of course but I wouldn't have the slightest problem with it. Here in Belgium girls that size are not rare and although it's her personality that matters most, I wouldn't mind at all.
A tiny girl with a friendly smile is a lot more welcome for a big hug than a long lady with a dead serious face!

5'1 is actually pretty average for a woman.

I'm 5'2 and I never really feel super tiny around other girls. I'd say anything between like 5'0-5'6 is the norm among women.

@ShaeNielson maybe it's your location, but all the girls I come in contact with on a daily basis are 5'0-5'6. I actually find it quite odd to see someone 5'8 or taller to me they're like super crazy tall.

I see your profile and it says your from Denmark. I just Googled it and the average height for women in Denmark is 5'6 while in America it's only 5'4 so maybe women in general are just a lot taller there.

A 5'1 woman in America is probably the equivalent of a 5'3 woman in Denmark (this would be assuming based on averages that all other variables were the same. So, in Denmark what you see as "average" would probably be 5'2-5'8 or something like that

Women in the UK are also slightly taller than US women on average so that's probably why OP feels tiny.

"Normal" all depends on what is relative to you. If you live in a country full of giants then you'll think it's normal to be a giant. If you live in a country full of tiny people (like the Philippines for example) then you will think that being tiny is normal.

That's true, hugging stomachs just isn't hot, but when you lay down or sit and cuddle you get the chest lol, either that or go for guys who are like 5'6 this guy I dated once was around that height and I got his chest. And jeans legs can sometimes be too long, but all in all being short as a female really isn't a problem unless you're like 4'9 or something

I only say 4'9 because that's the height my sisters friend has, and she has quite a few problems because of it. It doesn't look bad to be that height, girls can still look good with it, but just day to day stuff can be annoying.

You know, I actually know a girl of a similar height who used to be a security guard and is now working on building sites. I love her because she's very skinny and short and has such a little girl innocent face and can lift anything haha, she's crazy strong and can defend herself well and nobody would every think it to look at her.
