Girls with razor blade marked scars up and down arm, is that a sign they are mentally ill?
and attempting Suicide?

It means they have practiced self harm. Keep in mind self harm isn't the same as suicide and some wouldn't call it mental illness, it depends on your point of view.

I'm just going to say in general it's a serious thing and shouldn't be made of but I wouldn't treat them as if they're sick in the head either.

Mentally ill, maybe - who the hell inflicts scars on themselves with a razor of all things? Scary.

But not suicide I believe, just a "cutter".

But hey, at least she inflicts pain on herself rather than direct it at others. That's gotta be at least somewhat a good thing, right?

Yes, that's a sign that they are or were once mentally ill. Mentally sound people don't self-mutilate, or else we wouldn't consider it a big deal.

Perhaps they were depressed yes but most cutting are not aimed at suicide but as a method of seeking “sensation of pain”
