Im 17 and weigh 85lbs. I’ve went to the doctors and it’s very frustrating because some say is a normal healthy weight and some say its under weight. I eat like a pig, I eat all the time. I hardly exercise because I tend to lose weight easily instead of gaining. I’ve been diagnosed with depression too but I’m just very stressed about not gaining any weight. I look like a stick. And I very much hate when people tell me im really skinny because i know that i am and i try my very hardest to gain weight , i drink protein shakes , eat, i just dont want to look like a fucking stick anymore and get told i should eat a fucking sandwich. ( sorry for ranting just been really low )

well do you think you are fat? if you don't then you are not anorexic and you don't NEED to gain weight unless you are anorexic and in which case you need to see a doctor i am not going to assume you are anorexic because i am 17, 100 pounds, and have been told i am too skinny last time was by mom and i went ballistic and refused to talk to her for a week unless i needed to. And its because i find being told i am too skinny is offensive especially since i eat more than my brother and my mom has watched me eat a one pound burger in one sitting.

Sweetie, it depends how old you are. If you're 16 and over, even 15 in my opinion that's really thin. It's different if you eat and don't gain weight than opposed to trying to not eat a lot so you stay thin, I'm not trying to be mean at all. Just those all play a factor in the answer to your question.

Oh honey, you need to gain some weight. I don't even think my bones weigh 85 pounds, I'm kind of a little big boned. But maybe it's because you're a vegan. Try to work out and eat a lot of food, maybe you could tone and stuff and then you'll be able to see why you can't gain weight. I know a girl who is 5'9 and 110 Lbs but that's not really good either. But if I was you're weight I would eat at a restaurant every day and eat tons of cake! But that's just me :)

If you live in the USA, it's likely you only appear too thin because we are a fat nation.

Watch an old movie from the 1930s or 40s and you'll see how thin we are supposed to be.

all i had to read was 85 lbs. yeah you're damn thin. im assuming its your genetics why you have trouble gaining weight. i would consult a professional nutritionist of some sort in your case, knowledge would go a long way.

That's quite thin. Maybe try the pill? It's a long shot, but it might help your metabolism and hormones balance out.

Otherwise, just eat. Eat, eat, eat. Get a lot of protein and try strength training.

The contraception pill. It stops you from getting pregnant, but women take it for lots of other reasons, too because it balances hormones and stuff. It depends how your body will react to it, because sometimes it can do the opposite. One of the main side affects of the pill however, is weight gain.
