Serious question: which way do you wipe?

I read you have to wipe back and forth if you're a woman but I can't do that. I've always wiped forward which I guess is pretty bad. I'm wondering what the common way is. Go anon if you must.

Hey. I'm with you. I find wiping front to back awkward/more difficult. I wipe back to front. That said, it's not like I'm wiping poop into my genitals. I stop before my genitals. I've never had a UTI.

Maybe it also depends on how close your vagina is to your anus, but mine are far enough apart that it's never been an issue.

The fecal matter would only be getting on the opening or lips of my vagina not INSIDE the vaginal cavity. And if I keep wiping then eventually it's wiped off of the lips anyway.

So yea, that's probably why I haven't gotten any infections since I don't ram the dirty toilet paper inside of me. Plus, fun fact: the vagina cleans itself. So that might also be a reason why I haven't suffered any infections or strong smells.

I suppose so. I think I'm more susceptible to getting infections because of this but it's not a guarantee or even shameful to do it like this. I don't know why I was taught the uncommon way thought. Why mom?

i actually hate using a wipe/tissue, i'd much rather use a water jet bidet, if a venue i would go to doesn't have one anywhere then i wouldn't go there anymore :\

tbh i think its an impractical, outdated, uncomfortable and unsanitary method, i just find it disgusting.

also if you meant you dont have one at home, why not buy one? its really cheap and easy to install, if you have issues with wasting water you need to consider that you are paying a lot less for water than for electricity and are less likely to have 'stinky butt', 'funky finger' or 'tissue foot' by the time you're finished with the toilet in the future.

I swear to god I've never been to a home or venue or anywhere that had something like. I live in Northern California and am if lower middle class. And I'm 19 and live with my parents so it's not my decision what we use for a toilet.

For girls you are supposed to wipe from front to back. Cause you can get an infection like a yeast infection. Viginas are very sensitive.

I think before reaching the urethra, you'll infect the vagina and get a vaginal infection. Unless you disinfect you're likely to have a foul smell I'd assume

I've never have a UTI or vaginal infection and I'm almost 20 years old. And the smell isn't strong either.

I think it's because if any fecal matter gets near the vagina when I'm wiping it's just on/near the opening or lips NOT going directly inside the vaginal cavity therefore I'm not getting any infections.
