Can a blood test show that someone suffers from anorexia?

I got a blood test on Friday and I am super scared if the doctors may suspect something. Do you think they would notice something if I am deficient in most things or just assume that I eat unhealthy food? :(

yes. Your electro-lites will be out of whack. however, most doctors don't know anything about eating disorders and won't connect the dots. I am bulimic. During the time I was hiding it (1987-1999) I had many blood tests because I was in lawn care and used pesticides and such. so we got tests every 6 weeks for part of the year.
Only those of us with eating disorders know what it is like. for 10 of those 11 years I thought that there was no way I was hurting myself. I mean I was eating. People throw up when they are sick. so why would it harm me right?
Well as I found out a lot of damage can happen. Sometimes very fast. And with Anorexia, you can be dead in as little as a month.

All those little tricks you have, everyone knows about them and has done them before. They are not something you discovered yourself. if you need any information message me privately. get help, the longer you wait the harder it is to stop. I still have issues. but not as often.

It's very possible. Anorexia affects your health in ways that do impact blood test results. It's a good thing though if you do get found out because you will get the help you need.

If your body is in starvation mode and he did a complete work up there will be indicators suggesting there is a problem but not conclusive. You can also tell if someone is an alcohol by a complete blood work up but it can always point to other things as well.

You can see that there's less iron in your blood, but better question is, are you anorexic? If you think you are or suspect you are going to be, you should message me. I can tell you all about it, since my sister was/is anorexic.

Depends how far in you are. I have low potassium from my ED and everytime my blood work shows it, the doctors just assume I need to eat more bananas. I had it show a couple times that I had low iron, low electrolytes, and low vitamin D. Each time the doctors assumed that my body was just adjusting. Once I had a doctor who was skeptical and thought somethings deeper was going on, but eluded to it being anemia and then dropped the subject. Unless you're a skeleton or dropped 20 lbs in 2 weeks (which I have done and do not recommend) or your parent tips in to the Dr that they think you have an ED and gets the dr thinking up, you're fine

I'm pretty sure they can tell if a person is anorexic or not just by looking at them, and with a blood test they can see kinda tell if you eat enough or too much by things like electrolytes and protein in your blood. And they can tell by how healthy your organs are, for example your liver or kidney.

They were probably checking to see if you had a psychiatric disorder which can sometimes be discovered through a blood test if they find chemical imbalances in your body. They will not be able to detect anorexia with it.

A blood test can't prove that you have anorexia but if you're very skinny and you're deficient in several things they might think that you have an eating disorder

If you have anorexia, you should get help. Hiding it will only do you harm.

No. Anorexia is a mental disorder and a blood test won't show anything.

I know that but what will he do if he sees that I lack vitamins/iron/?

No not to my knowledge, but they can usually tell anyways cause you would be super ultra skinny.
