Why do Asians have a big vaccination scar?

It looks like a circle and I've heard it's from a type of vaccine. I'm an Asian myself borned in America and I don't have it. All people were surprised because I'm an Asian and I don't have one. Why is this happening? Why do Asians have this scar?

You're most likely referring to the smallpox vaccine.

The fact that you've never heard of smallpox is both a good and a bad thing.

Bad, because you're unaware of your history. Good, because the disease has been pretty much wiped off the face of the earth thanks to said vaccine that younger generations have no clue the disease even existed.

I'm Russian and have a big whopping scar on my arm as well. It's not a racial thing, it's a save humanity thing.

Yep. Mine was done very early on, so I don't have an actual memory of the pain and whatnot, but everyone I've ever known around my age and older have that scar.

a lot of needle injection at the arm causes a scar anyway. These days, some countries, they inject at the sole of the babies' foot.

It's a distinct scar with sort of two holes in one hole. My mom told me I had the vaccine when I asked her about the "hole" in my arm.

Only Mexicans that are born in Mexico... But Chicanos / born in the USA don't gave that... That's why you can tell who is a real Mexican buy that scar

I suppose you mean the scar from smallpox. Many older Europeans have it too. At a certain moment they stopped vaccination against smallpox because it was almost non existing anymore. I suppose you will also find at some older US people.

I'm Asian and I don't have it. People are mostly just concerned though, and it has nothing to do with race/ethnicity.
