I have really terrible period cramps?

It hurts a lot. I usually just forget the pain but it is unbearable this time. I took pain killers, what else should I do? should I ask my mom If she can rub my back a little? Or what?

I feel ya. I used to suffer debilitating cramps too, I used to vomit and my face would turn a weird shade of yellow! It was just awful and I dreaded it every month because I would have to go to the infirmary at school or take a day off work.

I used to take painkillers and I used to eat a lot of dark green vegetables (usually by juicing) about 2 weeks beforehand. I also started to alkalize by balancing the alkaline/acids in my diet and this helped a lot. Strawberries are a great alkaline fruit. I hope you find something that works for you.

Take a warm bath and get a heating pad after. I used to get my period twice a month and would/still do throw up and can't move very well. Back rubs do help but drinking water/hot tea with a heating pad after taking painkillers should do the trick.

That I completely understand. Hot tea, plenty of water, a bath, and the heating pad should really help though. If it doesn't update me and I'll ask my mom for her tricks 😂

About the tea thing in another comment only drink herbal teas. They lack caffeine and actually help with cramps.

As other people suggested, eating healthy
and staying away from caffeine can reduce the
symptoms.

But if you somehow forget to take precautions
you can instead take a long warm bath once it
acts up, I know some girls who put heat pads
on their stomachs to ease the pain.

Generally, you just want to keep your feet warm
however weird that sounds, it works.

Massaging around the abdomen
should also help it.

You should ask her to get on birth control. My ex used to use birth control even when she was a virgin. It would dramatically reduce her period symptoms and even shorten the entire duration of her period by 2-3 days.

Really? I went on it because of that but I'm going off because now my periods are 9 days and kind of hurt all of the days instead of really bad pains for one or two days

I agree with this. When I had them twice a month my doctor had no choice but to put me on the pill and it helped so much.

@Hippieswitchains when my girlfriend changed pills, she had a 10 day long period but after that they were down to about 4 days. @Asker at first it might make things a little worse. You may experience things like lower sex drive, vaginal dryness, and maybe increased period effects but these should only happen during the first cycle. Afterwards, they will reduce and things will get much better. The only things that really have a chance of persisting are the vaginal dryness and lowered sex drive. The only thing my ex experienced (after the first cycle) was actually pretty surprising, she had increased amounts of discharge.

Mine last only one day now with no pain, @Hippiesandchains when you first get on the pill they can be erratic and irregular but once you've been taking them for a couple of months it starts to calm down. How long have you been on them?

This isn't so much for now as for the future, but next time your period is getting close, generally eating healthier reduces symptoms--especially avoid caffeine and carbonated beverages, those really make cramps worse.

I knew it! I hadn't had tea for 3 years until a few days ago and that's why it Hurts so much

That would most likely explain it, I know if I have even a little caffeine within a couple days of it I get what I call "death cramps" and just stay in bed all day. Try decaf tea, it may not wake you up but it probably tastes the same. :3
