Have any tips for shaving my chest?

I've tried shaving with the grain, and it leaves behind little black spots where the hair is still under the skin. I've shaved against the grain, and that just leaves it red and burning. I've tried the nair stuff with no affect. Any tips?

I do have a recommendation for you. It's a device, not a technique.

Instead of shaving it clean, why not just trim it instead. This is what I do.

If you are so inclined for the clean shave, have you tried applying a shaving oil or even shaving in the shower?
