Should terminally ill patients be able to have the chance to end their own life?

i know many people are very sensitive when it comes to subjects on these and people have very different opinions on this.
i need people from differernt areas to answer this for a project on research i am doing in college so please can you answer and give a reason on why you think that. many thanks.

Yes, for several reasons.

We wouldn't allow an animal to suffer, why humans?
It's not upto us to control other peoples lives.
If you were in agony, pain that would only get worse would you really want someone to keep you alive against your will?
It's my life and I make decisions on how I live/die. If I was denyed something like phenobarbital it would either result in a messy suicide and shock to those that had to witness it and clear it up.

I agree there need to be safeguards, but I am in favour or helping those of sound mind suffer as little as possible if they wish to end it.

i think a doctor should do it. like just put them to sleep. i dont think the patients should be jumping of bridges or hanging themselves or anything like that.

I believe it's their choice.

Though I wouldn't do it unless I know 100% that no matter what. They're just going to become worse and suffer even more than they are now.

If i know there is no possible way to save them at all. Then yes I would give into their request. Though before I did I would first ask them what are some thinks they wish they could have at that moment. Which I would get them whatever possible. That way they can have a happy and peaceful eternal sleep.

i think it should be an option, especially if it's a disease that causes them a lot of suffering at the end of their life. because they suffer, it cause their family to suffer watching them slowly deteriorate.
animals are put down when they can no longer enjoy a quality life, so people should have the same option.

As sad as it sounds it's ther own choice it's their will. Stripping us from own will is no better than imprisioning us

As much as I don't want for the patient to suffer more, I also don't want to mercy kill them or something.

Depends if they are in pain, immobile, crazy, since if they have those problems then yes but if they can move do their normal lives then no

Yeah I do. Have you ever seen a stage 4 cancer patient? Just breaks your heart.
