What is this extremely painful feeling in the heart called?

Question

- Heart beating extremely fast to the point of extremely hurting your thoracic cage
- Heart feeling it's about to explode
- Not being able to breathe 
- Not being able to talk
- Extreme coughing 
- Being very dizzy and almost fainting 
I had this earlier today and people jn the streets wanted to call the ER but I didn't want to although I felt like I was about to die 😅 It lasted an hour but the coughing is still persistent and I can't go to the doctor because it's the weekend. Anyways I know that people on GaG are not doctors but I'm just wondering if you ever had this so you can maybe give me an exact term just so I can look it up on the internet? I think it's linked to exhaustion... All that has been coming up on Google is heart attack and it's not what I'm looking for 😅

It could very well be the start with your own heart... Panic Attacks, @EIissaDido... These Miserable Attacks run in my own family, My middle Sibling has had them for years and they just Come on like Grease Lightening whenever she is stressed out.
Keep an eye on them and should this happen again, my friend, GO to the Emergency Room and Get Checked out. A Primary Doctor, which you should have at hand as well, will be able to treat These Attacks with Medication to Best Handle them when they would come on.
It could Also be More in Store than meets the eye so Please, if you Do have an Occurrence again, Go to the ER and Get Further Tested.

Uh. You should go to your general practitioner firstly. They'll probably reccomend you to a cardiologist who can evaluate you and your symptoms properly to discover the underlying cause of your issues. Meanwhile if you ever feel like this again I definitely reccomend going to the ER to get checked out. Try drinking more water though. WebMD is a really good website where you can enter your symptoms and it'll tell you possible conditions.

To break it down, you have lungs, heart, arteries, kidneys all in that area... no, no one here could say anything like that because no one knows what's going on with you based on these feelings you have. I am studying EMT and we hear about people who don't go in time to the hospital then guys like me will have to come and get you or you are already dead... in which case we will still get you but with no lights. Don't be stupid. Use that good brain you've got.

Medically it would be tachycardia which is very dangerous... You're still alive, but I'd guess you are under extreme stress. Maybe you are having panic attacks? Did you break up with someone you were in love with (heart break can do this to you)? Do you have an electronic blood pressure monitor that can you check your pulse and blood pressure with?

I don't want to panic you, but this could be quite serious. Some of the symptoms are typical of an enlarged heart that isn't pumping properly. I am very close to someone who showed these symptoms, and is permanently on medication.

Please, if this persists, go seek proper medical advice.

Elissa, you need to go to the ER IMMEDIATELY. Don't wait. I had chest pain last month and I went to the ER, and it was a good thing because they said it was a pneumothorax, and if I hadn't have gone it could've been fatal. Go!

Omg are you okay? It sounds like it might be stressed endused or maybe if you haven't got a lot of sleep recently it could cause it. Take some asprin just in case it's a heart attack and go to the doctor as soon as you can. I hope you feel better :)

That's a concerning attitude. Just because you're young and fit doesn't mean you can't have some kind of congenital heart issue. You need to have both possibilities checked out.

I think that's tachycardia... a collegue of mine has it and needs to take medication to keep it under control.
So don't panic - it's very uncomfortable but not dangerous.
You need to see your doctor though, the symptoms may come back at any time without treatment :o

Go to the MOTHERFUCKING DOCTOR.
You do NOT ignore cardiac and respiratory symptoms.
What you described could be one of many things. It could have been a panic attack, or it could have been atrial fibrillation. It could be something minor, or something that might kill you if you don't get treatment ASAP.

In short, doctor or ER NOW, would be advisable.

You have an arrhythmia I'm cardiac technician, you need to get a stress test. It's just running on a treadmill with some stickers on they have to see the underline rhythm. You can't have Afib you're too young. You need to see a cardiologist. It could be Atrial Flutter or asthma or Pulmonary Embolism, can't say really because the majortity of serious complications have these symptoms, you need to go see a doctor right away. Before you actually faint.

Beems like you had a bout of heart palpitations, I've had them before when I was extremely stressed out with schoolwork. They're usually not serious, but you should tell your doctor about it just to be cautious. If they're accompanied by dizziness then it's a sign of a heart problem.

Tachycardia. Possibly also a panic attack.  However, if you're coughing, it's likely not panic. Keep coughing. That's what gets your heart into a better rhythm. Take an aspirin. Call an ambulance.
