Have you had your tonsils taken out?

Never in my 18 years of life have I had tonsillitis until this year. I got it for the first time around the beginning of the year and now I have it again. Have you ever had it? Have you had your tonsils removed? How was it?

Yes, I had it when I was 7-8 years old. I used to be so ill because of that. Persistent cough, perpetual vomiting and incessant cold. Bad days.

A doctor found out that I have tonsils. They took me to the operation room and inserted two needles. One was glucose and another was.. I don't know. Then they asked me "are you sleepy?", I replied "no". Then they used an injection and then I started to lose conscious. I was asking "what's happening to me? Why I'm getting sleepy?" And then I finally lost conscious.

I woke up after 5-7 hours, I guess. My family was sitting beside me. I told everyone that I have sore throat. Then doctor gave me ice cream. I was like "No, that's bad for my health". I was never able to eat ice cream before that moment because of tonsils. Then the doctor said, "don't worry, son".

I started eating ice cream. That was the most awkward moment of my life because this was the first time when a doctor told me eat ice cream. (They gave me to stop the internal bleeding).

Then my dad showed me the tonsils. There were two spherical pieces floating in the bowl. My mom told me that they removed some small pieces from my nose too.

Yes I did it when i was 10. Afterwards its like having a sore throat but you get lots of ice cream so it all evens out. Just make sure you have a good surgeon. My asshole surgeon forgot to seal everything up on one side and I almost choked to death on my blood as they wheeled me out into the recovery area and told my mom that everything went great.

I had them removed when I was around 7 or 8. Not sure exactly. I do remember it is quite difficult to keep your mouth open and stand still when a surgeon is sticking a huge needle in your throat. Still, I don't remember feeling any pain. I had a sore throat for a week after that but apart from being scared shitless it was actually not that bad. Unless you ask the poor nurse who held me. Her legs looked like she was run over by a truck.

Yeah I was about 7 years old. I dont remember it that well, just eating soft foods in a hospital bed.
