Is there something wrong with my scale? How do I get it to give me accurate weight?

I just bought a weight scale today and I stepped on it and it gave me 120.6 pounds. Then I got off of it, came back five minutes later and it said 118.6 pounds. I don't believe that I lost 2 pounds in 5 minutes so is there a way to get an accurate measurement of my weight or is this scale just flawed. It's an electronic scale by the way

It may have to do with the weight of your clothes if you changed clothes in that time.

If not, then take like a 20 pound weight, something you know for sure the weight of, and weigh it several times. If the readings vary a lot then it must be the scale.

Is it leveled? Try pushing down on two opposite edges and see if it wobbles back and forth. Also it'll say different things depending on what direction you're leaning in and which foot you're putting more pressure on.
