Dumbbell Press or Bench Press, which do like better and why?

Personally, I like dumbbells.

I like the range of motion that comes with dumbbell press, feels easier on my wrists, where I often get pain in, and can usually be done without someone having to spot you. I had an embarrassing, nightmarish experience trying to bench press without a spotter one day lol what I a fool I was.

I prefer the dumbbells, forces me to train for balance and coordination, and is safer to do without a spotter.

Exactly what I was going to say. The majority of the time I don't have a spotter and I generally won't ask random strangers to spot for me.

@Barrabus_the_Free yea, asking strangers sucks, especially when half the time they don't spot you right. They'll help when they don't need to, it sucks.

I like doing the dumbbells, but I've never tried a bench press. Would like to try it though.

Are you talking about dumbbell fly? Because you can do straight bench with either Dumbbells or barbell.

Both are great exercises. I might give a very slight edge to dumbbell for athletic development and a slight edge to barbell for hyper trophy but not big differences.

Haha the only thing I do to keep fit is sparring. I fence and I do a bit of hema with longswords

Isokinator M2A... nothing hits the pecs like that, not even Barbell, Dumbbell or machines.

It's a German made portable gym made from only metals. Most people are put off by the high cost but I've built muscle within 3 months from using it, more than when I was training with weights.

Part of the reason for the success is because in all excercises without, there is a 100% Time Under Tension (TUT). Your chest is worked constantly without any chance to cheat or rest.

I use the Isokinator Green Giant and people I work with have started to ask me about my 'weight training' but I say ''I don't do weights'' haha.
