Cutting back on sugar -- is fruit still okay?

So I'm trying to cut back on the whole sugar thing. I mostly want to focus cutting out the obvious unhealthy sugars -- sugar in tea, sugary drinks, candies, etc. etc. But I'm wondering -- just how bad is the sugar in fruits and vegetables? I mean, its better to eat a banana than a chocolate bar correct?
So would cutting out those obvious unhealthy sugars be a good start? Or should I cut out some fruits entirely too? I know I'll go insane if my sweet tooth isn't satisfied.
