Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt is generally safe for most people to cut off sugar immediately from their diet. However, it's important to keep in mind that sugar is a highly addictive substance, and some people may experience withdrawal symptoms when they cut it out from their diet.
Common sugar withdrawal symptoms can include headaches, fatigue, mood swings, cravings, and difficulty concentrating. These symptoms are typically temporary and should subside within a few days to a week.
If you're considering cutting off sugar from your diet, it's important to do so in a healthy and sustainable way. This may involve gradually reducing your sugar intake over time, rather than cutting it off completely all at once. It's also important to ensure that you're still getting adequate nutrition and energy from other sources, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
If you have any underlying health conditions or concerns, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before making any significant changes to your diet. They can help you develop a safe and effective plan for reducing your sugar intake and achieving your health goals.00 Reply

It depends on what you mean by that... If you are still eating carbs, just cutting out processed sugars, then you should be fine. If you mean cutting out all carbs, then you need some carbs every day for your brain to function properly. During times of fasting when glucose isn't available, ketone bodies are created from fatty acids to do the job. But if you don't have the fat reserves on your body or a high fat diet, then your body will struggle to get the job done and you will be hypoglycimic. This can lead to brain fog, confusion, headaches, etc. Most people would not notice this for about 24 hours because they have a reserve of glycogen in their liver and skeletal muscles. If you exercise a lot (i. e. cardio/dancing) it will happen more rapidly. If you tend to really push yourself to the edge and go the extra mile you can end up crashing low blood sugar can land you feeling weak while you're trembling and sweating with chills under a blanket trying to stay warm.

No, not immediately. I heard that you withdraw completely like that; it's going to be harder for you to stop. I think you should take it one day at a time. I'm no doctor, but let's just say you eat a pack of cookies a day, maybe reduce it to 4 cookies, and so on. Never stop completely. You may be hit hard with withdrawal symptoms.

I'm not doc but I would say no. Just instant cut of sugar would probably not be good for the body. Body is gonna freak out because where's the f***kin sugar, gdi. So trying to stop instantly and right then can not end well

+1 ythere is no need for refined sugar and it's probably not good for you, although tastes good.
you may need to be more specific especially with your Dr.. We don't know your issues, you do.
in nature... you could starve for days and survive. Fasting is a normal feature of cultures, albeit, done differently.

u +1 yIf you eliminate not just sugar but all carbohydrates from your diet, your body will experience cravings for 24-36 hours, then the cravings will go away and your body will convert from a carbohydrate-burning metabolsm to a fat-burning metabolism. A low carb diet is a natural and healthy diet to follow for most people, and you will feel better once you have been on the diet for a few days.

+1 yIt's up to you. But I have found that if I don't eat sugar, I don't want it as much. If I do eat it, I want more of it. So I find it easier just to cut it out completely. (Well, technically not, since I replace it with natural sugar from fruit. But it's still much healthier.)

+1 ySugar isn't an addictive substance so you should be able to quit without suffering any withdrawal symptoms. Your body doesn't need the extra sugar so the sooner you quit the better.
As I type this I'm spooning heaps of sugar into my coffee.

Thanks!
There is no reason from a medical reason if that is what you are thinking of. But it does affect your mood - well mine at least. Sugar makes me happier. So does the salt and fat in fries. If I have had a bad day I stop off at MacD on the way home.
Oddly I've have found that sugar substitutes have the same affect and I get a noticeable uplift in mood.00 Reply

I understand... But it won't last for many days right?
- +1 y
It can last really long, they say sugar is more addictive than certain strong drugs, it's believable considering its also added to most if not all our food, next time you buy something look at the stats, I guarantee you'll see Gs of sugar that are added, even to salty foods, actually go to your kitchen and go check the foods, it all contains some sugar, they are killing us, people just don't realize it
- +1 y

- +1 y

- +1 y

- +1 y
I don't think I've realized that no ๐ค
So what are you trying to say that this has something to do with them killing us? - +1 y
Maybe pol
- +1 y
Lol*
- +1 y
I wouldn't deny it, I'm sure they have many slick ways of killing us, after all it seems that's all they are good for smh
- +1 y
I agree with u
Yes to have as little sugar in our diet as possible is really good for us. It will make us lose what ever extra weight we have. But it will give us better skin, clear up our eyes, give us a more stable mood, sleep better, give us more energy, and we will smell and taste better when we cut out sugar.

20 ReplyIt'd be a better idea to gradually eat less sugar
10 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Sure. There are sugars in many foods that you usually do not think about, so you really are not completely cutting it out unless you learn those foods and cut them out,
