It's basically an inflammation of the brain, first signs are usually a stiff neck or head aches - kinda like flu-like-symptoms. It quickly gets worse if it isn't treated as soon as possible though and some patients die within a couple of hours. It's treatable with antibiotics though. It's also contagious so if you are or have been in contact with anyone who's infected make sure you stay away, get help for them and watch your own body over the next couple of days.

Oh and there's a vaccination for it that's pretty commonly used to prevent cases of Meningitis C, at least in my country.

Yeah it sucks. If you know you have it, then it's chronic and will lead to liver disease, cirrhosis, and likely liver cancer. Bottom line your live is fucked over the long run and you'll need a liver transplant. Their no vaccine to prevent it. Basically your doctor will probably throw you on interferon and ribavirin...

I don't know a lot about it but Google can be your friend, I see someone gave you wiki link - My feeling on all things medical is go to a professional if you have to for initial consultation and advice - I would also research Hep C support sites for advice and experiences of fellow forum members.

I will just go from my own experience with mental health issues - You are on the right track with research on the internet, the more you know the clearer idea you have on how to react - As I said try and find a forum or support site, often the advice you find most helpful you get from fellow sufferers and might give you ideas and info you haven't thought of yet - Anyway best of luck to you and your girlfriend.

I'm not sure. They are a lot of types of Hepatitis. I think C you get from infected blood. Did you have a blood transfusion? or are you sharing needles Omar? 😱😱
