I think it ongoing for me since it's on the Existential level, and my overall outlook of this world and reality had never really been positive. But that's alright, I've been to therapy and talked about it before, but I feel I'm really still on my own.

I always just tell myself, that it isn't over since I'm still alive and kicking, and because there are just way too much shit, in particularly to the bad shit in this world that is beyond my control to begin with.

I realized that suffering is necessary for us to ever really even have any meaning or seek any kind of meaning or purpose to what we do or want to do in the first place. Although it's just all just delusions to me. Sometimes I just feel as if nothing ever really mattered other than the fact we wanted anything or anyone to matter.

Other than that, the only other way is forward is by helping others, such as through volunteer work or something, as to me that would be a good start if you have some really really deep unhappiness.

I had bad depression a few years ago, I more or less stayed in bed for 3/4 of the day only got up to go to the toilet. Had my pc desk by my bed I would play video games (mostly LoL) non stop then sleep. Got to the point I was scared to leave the house and didn't for close to six months. Couldn't stomach food because I felt anxious and queasy constantly, so I basically lived off drinking milk and the occasional meal that was very unenjoyable. I Didn't cope all that well but in the end I had enough and slowly started going out first to the shop down the road, and took it in small steps going abit further over time. Was the worst 6 months of my life but I dragged myself out of it, somehow.

had really bad depression for 6 months over a guy and problems at university. it was interrelated. I had problems with him because I had problems at uni and then I had problems at uni because I couldn't get out of bed. There was just no motivation inside of me. Depression is usually caused by something or someone. The best way to cope is to tackle the cause. You have to solve your problems and see how you feel after. You can't deal with depression if you have all these problems hanging over your head. It's difficult to break that vicious cycle: not doing anything-having problems-being even more depressed-not doing anything about it. You can try medication or there's natural antidepressants you can take that you can find in health shops with little to no side effects. It's important to keep moving, keep doing things. New achievements will motivate you to do more and better. You won't even have time for being depressed.

I have pretty severe manic depression. I have it control at the moment, but I still do have little problems here and there from time to time.

I know how hopeless and dark it can really become.
Pretty much what helped me the most wasn't any material item or love from my family (however good their intentions were), but rather, the little anecdotes that I collected from others who KNEW and experienced what it was all about. They essentially paved the way for me to be lead out from this hopelessness that I once had.

i have been depressed as long as i can remember. i can't remember being happy for a year or even a month in my life. it started with puberty and i felt like shit in high school. it ruined my days in university. i couldnt get up and go to classes. i was always at dorm using my computer. i didn't have a girlfriend. no sex no fun no nothing. god it was awful. as i got older i became better but i wish i would have done something about it sooner.

Yeah I've had depression, right after I quit my job (not because I wanted to). The way I coped, I went back to college and studied a lot and took my mind off the depression, because I was always thinking about exams. Also gym helps, as well as yoga. With yoga you don't have to think about anything except the movements you're doing.

Yes and I'm not really sure.
I had bullying in highschool because i was quiet and relatively hard working
sometimes exam pressue in collage and thinking i chose the wrong cores split maths/physics rather than computer science but it was 2 late to change.
Then failure to live up to my parents expectations after college and pressure to magically find something immediately whether suitable or not and despite certain difficulties that make it yet even harder when I thought I needed to learn to code first to get a job that would suit me but also feelt 2 uncertain and was constantly doubting my own ability and still do periodically.

i wasn't officially diagnosed since i dont go to professionals for that kinda stuff, but i know i went through a dark time. i coped by realising that my life and who i am was worth more than the moment i was living in.

Yes, I was diagnosed with depression a year ago and recently was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Anti depressants aren't the best, especially when I get the side effects. It also made me lose all ability to have complex emotions.
