I burned my hand making coffee?

I was microwaving coffee and the coffee was in the microwave for at least 2 and a half minutes when I grabbed a spoon to stir it. I don't know how but the second the spoon touched the coffee, the coffee just exploded and it got all over my hand. Now my hand is burned but it seems to be just my knuckles. I have icing it for the last half hour it still stings and it's swelling

run cool tap water over the skin for 10 minutes. Don’t put ice, butter or anything else directly on the burned skin. Take ibuprofen for pain.

Try some petroleum jelly should calm it down a bit. I THINK toothpaste will help don't quote me on that.
