Pain in my left hip?

Whenever I'm walking, my left hip gives me sharp shooting pain. It's not so severe that I burst into tear, can't walk, or abstain from activities, but I don't feel it when I'm sitting down. I tried Googling it but I'm not sure whether half the results apply to my age group (I'm almost 15). Should I tell my parents. even though it's not affecting me physically? Will the pain worsen? Thanks for any help :)

better to get it checked out sooner rather than later. my neighbor just found out he has stage 4 liver cancer because he didn't get it checked out sooner. he woke up the other night with extreme pain in his side, after eating. it's just, better safe than sorry, even if you think it's nothing

Is it a muscle or a tendon or a bone? Try to locate the pain? Did you sport and make a wrong movement?

It's just below a bone, but I'm not quite sure. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.

then I think its a tendon. You can use transverse friction and ice to help recovery, but if you don't know how to do it, consult a physician.

Just below my left hip bone, and it stays in the area.

you do need to talk to your parents about it, thinking about when it started have you had it before does it come and go. you do need to seek professional help here but the fact you mention when walking is making me consider sciatic nerves because of the pressure and these stem off from the base of the spine to each leg and can create pain from the hip right down through the leg, if it could be the sciatic nerve which you would need diagnosing there are many self help techniques you can do, when you say below hip bone is it on the side or underneath more in the lower ab or groin? and have you had this before? have you had any recent injuries even if seem minor to you? xx

Probably started around a week ago, and it's only when walking. The pain is just right under my hip bone, not to any side. I've not had any experience with things like this before, and I haven't had any recent injuries. I've already told my parents and they're looking for an appointment :)

Mine does the same thing even when standing. My problem is deteriorated disks in my back from an old injury.

I've never had a severe injury, broken anything, etc.
