If you want to lift, than go for it! Anything you want to do can be achieved. Sometimes, it should not be, but that is for you to find out personally, not for someone to tell you (certain exceptions do apply; listen to your parents/elders). If you decide you love lifting, more power to you. If you decide you do not like it, or it makes you too sore, or whatever, try something else like long distance running or rumba classes.

There is nothing wrong with lifting. Just start gradually and increase weights when you feel ready. If you do that, you will not get injuries.
light weights are ok, at 13 you're still growing so I'd take it easy until around age 18
