I'm 5'7 and I once weighed 160 and had a size 13 pants size then I went to a size 7 at 140 but I've been going to the gym and I weigh 158 but I'm still a size 7.. my friend likes to say that I'm fat because I weigh more than her but I'm a couple inches taller than her and I think I'm not as fat.. not to be mean but I think I have a less amount of body fat.. I've suffered from body issues and I was really proud of my body finally but once she started saying something about how it only matters who weighs less.. I have a very nice body and I carry fat in the places I want so it's not like I'm ripped but it still bothers me.. does it actually matter about weight?
No, not at all. You should focuss on fat/muscle ratio. They can measure that in a gym. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, so it can be normal your body gets thinner without loosing weight because of the extra muscle

It's not the gym that gets you fit, it's the diet. If you know your maintenance calories and cut 500-600 calories from it you're fine. Consistency is key. Thats the only basic advice I can give :p
body weight does not matter at all. If I found a girl to be attractive there would be nothing a scale could do to change my mind
