Am I schizophrenic?

I'm so scared I don't know what to do. I was in my room last night, and out of nowhere a voice in my head kept telling me to kill myself. It wasn't anyone else's, it was my voice. I almost did it, and I just kept crying because it wouldn't go away and it was making me anxious and frustrated. I didn't hear anything today, though. Also, I have a really bad urge to rip my hair out. I feel so crazy and I don't know.

By the way you are talking about it, it doesn't appear to be a schizophrenic episode but it could still have been another psychotic disorder.

When you are a young teen, hormones such as dopamine, estrogen, testosterone, and endorpin start rushing through your body. When you were younger it was non-existence so it does create pressure to your brain. Especially considering that most hormones control depression and other emotions. This is why people always say teen girls turn crazy for a bit. are rushing through your body.
Therefore, you may be completely fine.

The reason I you did not experience a schizo thing that night is because you said "In my head". To me, that sounds like you are thinking in your head. For the most part schizos are ignorant to fake and real. They are brainwashed that they someone is there right from the first time.

I wouldn't rule it out though.

The best thing you can do is tell your parents and if they don't listen then go to the guidance counselor at school (if you are in school). If you are uncomfortable with telling someone exactly what is going on then you just say that you think there is something wrong with your mental health and it's an emergency. You have to talk to a doctor.

In the meantime try not to be alone. Hang with friends, stress will make it worse. Watch peaceful and calm movies, stick with relaxing music. :)

That is a hallmark of schizophrenia, so you should definitely bring it up to a psychiatrist and have one evaluate you for it. There's a whole slew of anti-psychotic medications out there for you to try.

If you are hearing voices that tell you to kill yourself, then you need to seek psychological help before you hurt yourself or anyone else.
