Have you ever changed doctors?

My doctor just told me he retired in October. I was like, what, aren't you 45? He's apparently 60. Mind blown.

I did, a few times
1. when I moved to another city
2. when my doctor retired
3. when I moved to another city again
4. when I got an illness when traveling: I met Greek, Moroccan, Egyptian, Turkish, French doctors.
During a life of traveling and moving one has to accept unknown doctors at moments.
I only met good ones but I learned to know about all the interactions between meds and learned to read a formula of a med. I can say my doctor "don't prescribe that ___, It will interact negatively with my usual meds."
And he'll respect that most of the time. Once or twice I had to say a strict 'NO'.

I did when I was 14, I'd seen my old once since I was born so was bummed I'd have to find another. I've been seeing my current one since then and I'm thinking she's coming up to retirement age too.
It's hard to find a good doctor!

No I've been with the same Dr. most of my life. The one I had as a child retired , but I've stayed with the doctor who took over from him after he retired

I'm working on changing mine. Downside is that the good doctors aren't taking new patients, so it's spin the roulette wheel and see if you can find a good one who's been practicing for only a few years.

Mine is only 35. It'll be a while before I need to find a new one.

If you have a teaching hospital near you look into the Dr.'s there.
