Is this normal?

This is a bit embarrassing but I don't go for a poo for days, and then when I do go the poo is really big and it's painful to get out. Has anyone else experienced this and what can you do about it?

What you experienced is not unusual. If this is a temporary condition, you need to up your intake of fluids (water). Everyone needs to stay hydrated for a myriad of health reasons and this is one of them.

Your system was a bit "dry". You need more water in your diet, and fiber would help you retain that moisture in your poop so you don't get constipated.

Talk to your doctor about it. It can be a sign of several different problems.

You have a constipation problem which is very common. So don't feel left out. What you need to do is change your eating habits: drink tons of water everyday, eat more fiber, more veggies, less red meat, less artificial sugar. It will take a few days but the problem will go away. There are also specific over-the-counter medicines that help clear out constipation, check out your local pharmacy. But I recommend you do a try living a healthier lifestyle with good food and exercise.
