What is this mass on my upper inner thigh?

It is oval shaped and about an inch long. It is painful when touched and has been going on for about 3 weeks. At first it was a pimple then it turned into this lump. What do you think it is?

It's a cyst. Google "Sandra Lee" "Dr. Pimple Popper" and you will see lots of other people with those as she makes and incision and removes all the crap. You should go to a dermatologist ASAP, but watch her videos first to see what it is like.

At this point... maybe... but probably not. It will anchor itself into your skin and grow. People who don't get these things dealt with for years end up with enormous painful cysts. Yours is still reasonably small - if it even is a cyst - so it would be easy to pop and clean up. Get it done though - better ASAP than later.

It may just be a "boil" though - I had one in 1972 - but boils are cysts. I remember my dad pricking at it with a needle and then working on it like Dr. Lee is. I was 9 and he was 32. He kept telling me to "Make a muscle' (it was in the middle of my right bicep) and, if it didn't pop, he'd work on it. The 3rd or 4th time, it popped squirting out green pus all over his dark blue sweater. We laughed but I was just so relieved that the pain was gone. I still have a tiny white circular scar in my bicep because of that...

It looks like a boil, which aren't uncommon in the inner thigh. Generally a hair follicle becomes blocked and infected so it gets bigger and painful. If you shave you may be more susceptible to things like it.

Keeping it clean and dry, wiping it over with witch hazel or peroxide will help dry it out but if the pain doesn't subside you may need to get it lanced by a doctor

It's probably a pimple that got infected. You should see a doctor because infections can spread and cause a lot of issues
