Trending & News Body shape is a silly thing to care about but if you wanted to care about it, and you're female, traditionally you'd probably want to be told you're a pear (or hourglass) shape (or, you know, not generalized by your body shape in the first place).
He didn't make the phrase up. Google it.
I would say it's a compliment even if it's a kind of a silly one.
Yes, it does.
While attributes such as prefered breast-size, hair, etc. are different around the world - the attraction to hip-to-waist ratio is everywhere the same.
And the pear shape has exactly that. Additionally the smaller shoulders accentuate the hips.
@archiz
Maybe for you, but not from a male PoV.
Euh? Having a narrow waist is feminine lol
If you work on your shoulders and muscle thighs you d manage to get a better proportion and more defined waist then having narrow shoulders with wide hips.
It s your point of view not males, don t generalise😂
A lot of guys told me they liked that, it s not coming from me.
@archiz
Actually yes, for men what counts is hip-to-waist ratio. That is universal and worldwide. Shoulders have nothing to do with it. In fact, wider shoulders distract from the hip-to-waist ratio as it focuses more on the shoulder-to-waist ratio.
So yes, it is a male view and not only my personal one.
@archiz
Correct. It is about proportions. And smaller shoulders accentuate the hips. Because the hips are then the only wide part of the body and thus stand out more. It's simple visuals.
That does not mean that men only find pear-shapes attractive, but it definitely shows itself since pear-shapes are often named as the prefrence men have - and that for a reason.
And that's why I told you that the male PoV is different to yours. Shoulders are for men pretty much just "there". There is no inherent attraction value to them bar a few exceptions. Men are ultimatively attracted to fertility, health and youth on a biological basis. That's why we are so visual - because we can get a good grasp on these factors right away.
Obviously though there is more than only "biological, purely physical attraction". Else we would see men only go after 20 years olds no matter the age. But we don't.
Actually best shape is hourglass then peer shape.
Shoulders do matter but they come secondly of course.
They give you a better posture
They give better emphasis on your chest area
The combo neck shoulders and bel is very attractive to a lot of people.
If you don t have much boobs, good shoulders sort off even out that proportion visually.
I don't see why its a problem, I've got one shaped like Homer Simpson and I still think it's awesome :)
We're all different for a reason.. it would be boring if we were all the same...
It's just a body shape.
That's all.
And honestly one that makes you appear very fertile too, so instinctively actually makes your body type very attractive to men.
It just means you have big hips with a smaller sized chest and waist.

Having a pear shaped body with small boobs/chest and big hips/butt is a bad thing if the body is not in proportion. Having a pear shaped body where the difference between the chest and the hips is less than 10% (ex chest is 36 and hips are 40 inches) is a good thing. Girls with pear shaped body should have a almost flat stomach to look beautiful.
If you think about the shape of a pear it's wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. If it's said about a woman it implies she doesn't have a waist, and that in turn suggests that she might be overweight. So generally it's either bad, or your boyfriend has his fruits mixed up.
Its not a good thing to the general public but then again most people are overweight. I'm very fit and I have found certain pear shaped women hot. I'm probably in the minority. A nice soft body feels nice pressed up against mine.
pear shaped body is a really sexy body type. but not all men see it that way. it depends on the context to know whether he likes it or not.
If you're comfortable with your body, then its a good thing.
Most people have a pear shaped body anyway, so it shouldn't be much of an issue.
It means that you have bigger hips and a bigger butt. Mostly these ''body types'' are just silly, but it is a compliment.
You are genetically better suited to birth children
Its a neutral thing. Pear is a very common shape. And it means is that your hips are wider than your waist. But your boobs are not as wide as your hips. Basically, its just a body sshape.
it s just a shape you mainting it in good form makes it good or not.
but mainly having defined curves is preferred.
I have the same shape. It's pretty as long as you're not fat.
It all just depends on his preference and he wouldn't be dating you if he didn't like your body
The pear body shape is the most common female body shape. Grab a mirror and take a look: If your hips and backside are wider than your shoulders, you're the lucky owner of apear-shaped body
I have the same shape. I wish my boobs were bigger but we do look cute in dresses and skirts!
What about his personality? He won't be young and handsome forever, will you still love him when he,'s old and fat and ugly, like me?
To me it means that person has a big butt and not in the good way
It's just a body type. Damn...
Yes it's a good thing. Not a deal breaker.
It's not good, it's not bad.
if he likes your body then it's a good thing
Why wouldn't it be a good thing?
Good thing
Yes.
yeah i like it.
no it is not good thing in my opinion
why?
@xXiTacoXx Nothing wrong with having a figure as a stick
