Side butt indents - can I get rid of them or make them appear less?

Anonymous
I have been working out rather regularly for the past year, lost weight 10-15lbs, and was always pretty fit before that. Made some simple changes to my diet. I lift regularly and attend HIT classes. I increase weight on all squats, lunges, DL, bridges, etc. Slowly add weight so I don't hurt myself. My quads & butt are very muscular. From the side my butt looks wonderful and I have a very nice hourglass/pear figure from the front. BUTT when I took a picture directly from behind I was woefully disappointed as I feel like it looks worse than when I started :( . My butt appears to be rather square and I have these indents on the side of my cheeks. Are there exercises to build this out? Like Glute Medius isolation?

Now I realize I could go on a stricter diet + add more cardio to lose some of the fat in love handle area which would make my waist appear even smaller. Is this the best approach? Plus do glute isolation exercises because my legs are already very large? Picture for reference and also an additional to explain what I mean by butt indents.
