Are girls really into fit gym guys?

so I went to the gym for the first time today and was slightly intimidated by some of the meatheads pumping iron, in the changing room I encountered a bloke bollock naked stretching in front of a mirror...

I want to go to the gym to get a bit fitter and bigger but I'm just wondering if girls actually like these self obsessed idiots that I encountered today?

On the other hand I was helped on the machines by a very nice woman that showed me the ropes as I had no clue.

Most girls will say they don't care, or they don't like muscles... but most things girls say aren't backed up by their own actions.

I train, I build muscle, I'm lean, and I love it.. but I don't do it for the girls. However, I've had girls at work comment, ask in as indirect way as they possibly can to ''touch my chest'', some were even lost for words and I'm no meat head.

From what I've noticed, a huge majority of guys simply don't bother doing exercise, so when you do, maybe it makes you stand out.

By the way, I use an Isokinator Green giant. Something that most people laugh at... yet people ask me what gym I go to, and what weights I lift cos of how I look. No need for a gym when you got one that fits in your pocket... that you can train anywhere with.

If you don't want to get intimidated and aren't interested in getting bigger and stronger then go to planet fitness.

And a lot of us meatheads are probably a lot smarter then you, when it comes to what we do.

As for the flexing there's actually an important reason to do it in regards to form.

I'm perfectly being a "self obsessed idiot" thank you at the end of the day I'll be bigger, stronger and healthier.

And if people ever wondered we don't particular like non lifters the Asker is a prime example of why.

You don't even know them on the first place. All this lifestyle becomes a passion, they're just people that enjoy working out and some of them are into bodybuilding, how does that make you an idiot? How is enjoying the gym different than enjoying soccer? Stop being so judgmental.

To answer your question, I find a lot of them attractive yes. I'm human, I like to check people out and a lot of this guys are good eye candy, they're hot. Is that specifically what I'm into and look for in a partner? Of course not, as cliche as it sounds, the inside is what matters and if he happens to be a guy that enjoys the gym, then awesome, we'd have that interest in common

I'm only into muscular guys who got that way through a passion. Your own reflection in the mirror does not count as a passion.
Of course health is attractive, we tend to like someone who has energy and isn't depressed or sick all the time. However, I don't care about fitness beyond that level. As long as you don't look like jabba the hut, there are other things more important.

(I do however absolutely hate guys with beer guts judging my vegetarian diet. "you need more protein" shut up, I have a 4-pack and you appear to be having triplets, I think I got that covered just fine thank you)

Personally, no. I find working out to be incredibly boring. If I get the sense that going to the gym and going to work are the only things that you do, I will not want to spend time with you. Working out and growing a beard are not acceptable substitutes for a personality.

Well, they do, but they can appreciate a lot more when there's some more substance to them. Yes, a lot of us guys- us, frequent gym-goers have these kind of attitudes. I read on some gym forums that the more-frequent gym goers, "meatheads" have mostly built themselves on this instead of real confidence and charisma, while girls like athletes much more because they embody other kinds of qualities while mostly keeping a more ideal body type.

Actually, I'm not exactly a meathead, but I can well relate to what you're referring to. I have a decent body, but I can definitely fail in the body language/socialising department. I'm basically an evolved geek.

From my perspective, women like men who can physically project themselves, are centred in their body, and of course, the aesthetics of it. However, meatheads, or it becoming your only defining feature at the expense of everything else, isn't attractive. If you don't like gyms, you might prefer to work out at home with calisthenics :)

Not body builders as such, but a generally healthy guy. I myself attend the gym, eat well and have a routine.

Normally a guy going to the gym means he is focused on health, self improvement, and shows a level of commitment.
At least we know he is at the gym and not at the pub.

Nah, I'm not into the whole huge muscles things. I like lean, lanky guys best. Somebody taller than me, and they have to be stronger than me (but I'm kinda weak, so most guys would fit this.)

By experience, no they aren't. A small niche of women might prefer big and bulky men, but most would prefer someone in between skinny and ripped. An athletic body type is far more appealing to them.

Most muscular guys I know are actually really nice guys. To answer your question, I have never seen a guy in really good shape struggle to get girls.
