I don't know if they are supposed to start dropping when reaching puberty. But No, it doesn't hurt and it's natural. The balls produce the " you know what liquid" and they can only do that at a required temperature. To regulate it, they drop down and come back up just to use the body temperature. They don't do that for a day or something. Whenever the temperature is not comfortable for them, they drop and when it comes back to normal then the balls return to their position.

They slowly distance themselves from the main lands. Its not a painful process, unless you put them in a painful situation
What Guys Said
Balls dropping is kind of a misnomer because the testicles are there but what ramps up is the production of testosterone causing other body things to change but no they don't just drop as such its more gradual and not painful
My balls have been dropping continuously for a decade. They’re at least a mile from my body at this point. Send help
Testicles do not descend during puberty. How did you not learn this in sex ed or health classes? Do they not teach that anymore? Most baby boys' testicles descend before they're a year old.
Balls begin drop before birth usually, and certainly by the third or fourth month after birth they are in the sack.
The part that hurts is when they hit bottom and bounce back up against the pubic bone. Ow, ow, ow!
Who the hell notices such things.. Gawd.. what kinda question is this!
Haha never even thought about that. It's just natural process. No pain involved. Process happens slowly through years
Puberty is gradual. At most, the pain is from growth spurts.
