How come my younger brother is already taller than me?

My brother is 12 and he’s 5’4, and I’m turning 14 this year and 5’3. Last year, I was taller than him but he just suddenly became taller few months ago. I know he’ll become taller than me someday but it’s just too quick cuz he’s still young. And it makes me feel that I hardly grow taller. People think that he’s older than me which is funny to me cuz I like it when people think I’m younger than him

Boys are more likely to grow tall if the DNA has the right informations, most times before they have their 16. Birthday... girls not (not all), bc their dna pointing to other regions on their body...

Look, even if you are one-egged twins, with exact the same dna. The body of your brother will grow taller, get space for muscles and a beard will start grow (most of it is controlled by hormones), but your body will grow boobs and the hormones start the period to prepare for maturity (able to get pregnant)

A guy dont need that, bc he can't get pregnant, so his genes uses the same informations to grow opposite...

But its not a big deal, your body height decisive because you're not a boy ;)

The average height of men is 173 cm, and your brother hasn't reached that yet, so comparatively you're still taller than your brother.

Boys unfortunately grow faster then us girls. They start growing faster when they turn 12. You're 14 right? Don't worry there's plenty of time for you to grow. People stop growing around the age of 20. And also why care what other people think? Besides being short is cute. Unless you plan on becoming a model or something. In most cases, not all, the males grow taller than the females and the same happened with me and my sister-

When she was 16 and I was 14, I was on par with her height
When she got to 17 and I got to 15, I was just, JUST taller than her
When she got to 18 and I got to my 16, I was much taller
Now that she is 20 and I am 18, I continue to be taller.

It's just a matter of genes and hormones :)

Males grow at different times and rates than females. He was likely smaller than girls his age until his preteen growth spurt hit. Men are also generally taller than women.

Girls bodies mature faster than boys but boys catch up eventually, some earlier than others unfortunately in your case... but hey he can protect you now!!

That's what my whole family from all sides ask, my father's 1.95 so I've got some genes (hopefully I don't become that high) and I'm 1.80
