Question is for breast-feeding mothers. Have you ever sucked the milk out of your own boobs?

OK, so I am a breast-feeding mom. I regularly feed the baby and pump with a breast pump. Sometimes I have sucked the milk out of my own boobs when they are super flattened because otherwise I could not reach them. I was wondering if any other breast-feeding mom has ever done this. I hear that only one fashion model has ever drink her own milk. I also hear that it’s exceedingly rare to hear of somebody drinking their own milk.

Haha well breastmilk is healthy and has many good properties for another person nursing it, but the biochemical machinery behind it kinda nullifies its benefits for the woman nursing herself. Doesn’t hurt anything though

I did not know that. I tried googling things on the net about it. But, only found the article on the supermodel. I couldn’t find anything scientific on the issue regarding if it was ok or good for a woman to drink her own.

I used a breast pump for that purpose. Yes supposedly breast milk can heal stuff like pink eye, etc. There was a woman years ago that kept some people alive with her breast milk when they ended up on a small life raft after a boat sinking or something.

Well it would take me to find a paper to link, but I studied breast function and lactation for years in university and made several presentations on it.

It’s perfectly fine. There isn’t much of a benefit for her because her breasts pull nutrients from her body to make the milk, so if she consumes her own milk, she is basically just ingesting nutrients that came from her body initially.

For another person, it’s a transfer of nutrients. Plus, breasts have the ability to create antibodies and pass them into milk, giving it special protective properties. But again, it would just be a feedback loop if she ingested it herself.

I've heard of Women who are not pregnant can lactate and
make milk come out of their breast nipples. So who knows
i imagine Women can suck milk from their own breast hard
to say?

Mine either, this is baby number 3 and I never did it with the other 2. It all started when I was drying up and was desperate to keep the milk flow for the baby. I didn’t have a breast pump with me at the time. So, I tried it. It worked and I realized that it cleared up a sore throat I had.

I mean, im just not a fan of bodily fluids... so no thanks lol
if I was a girl I wouldn't... thats like drinking milk from a cow without it being filtered... gross... really gross

I know it seems that way... but, did you know that it’s one of the healthiest things you can do. Bodybuilders pay people for the milk even... as long as your healthy and don’t have any diseases. It don’t need to be filtered. It’s also, the best and most nutritious food for your baby. My baby is very healthy because she just stays on them all day. It’s truly a beautiful thing when the baby eats... kind of weird when I drink it though... 😂

ya I realize that... a lot of things are nutrition
like insects, organs, strange sea creatures, bull balls, brains, animal blood

but I wouldn't really eat or drink that stuff lol... unless its the last thing on earth
