Not a doctor and I don't know what your hair used to look like or if it's always been like that but if you're only thinning in that one spot then it looks like it could be typical male pattern hairloss.
As far as I am aware the only things that are clinically proven to help hairloss are propecia (finasteride) and rogaine (minoxidil). Sometimes it can be related to stress/vitamin deficiencies but I -think- if that were the case the thinning would be all over rather than just crown, but like I said, not a doctor.
Maybe bring it up to your doctor during your next physical or if you want an expert opinion see a dermatologist.
As a hairdresser, yes this looks like typical male pattern balding! But don't be sad about it, it just means you have more testosterone in your system ;)
