Needing some help with my best friend who suffers from depression she has recently started lashing out at me over the smallest things (example) the other day I could tell something was wrong as she was somewhat being standoffish so I asked her if I had done anything to upset her, in hindsight I shouldn't have steered clear of asking that but basically innocent question? She totally bit my head off accusing me of making it about me and now not talking to me told me she wants to be left alone, I apologized to her , we are very close , talk everyday close and just a day before this she was so joyful with me bringing me lunch to work and all kinds of positive conversation, is this typical with depression , should I give her time and let her reach out?
Superb Opinion
Ask her to open up.
When I’m sad, I act up. All I want is, whoever is around me to just feel me and actually respect my pain and not talk shit like “ stop acting like that”
I am acting like that for a reason the only thing that helps is showing support and understanding.
Some though love too if needed, the truth needs to be said to help and heal. Not to kick someone down.
Try different approaches that might help your friend. Let her complain but also enlighten her into finding solutions.
