I thought I had a cold and it turned out I did, but a co worker persuaded me to take the test. I was working with the Census and was exposed to hundreds of people, though at social distance and with a mask on... buttttt... I took the test. Two versions: the fast test and the three -day results test. Both were negative. They were simple and straightforward. It's like getting a flu shot. Easy, nearly painless. There are several places in New Orleans to get tested and lines are short. In Louisiana, we are a high-testing state, so it's made to be convenient and it's free. We started off with terribly high rates of infection and crowded hospitals, but are general rates of infection are modest. In the New Orleans area it's 1.2 percent. We have some outlying parishes where infection rates are high, still, 20 percent, but they are not the norm. The state, as a whole, is around 7 percent infection rate.

Yes, only once 😅 my GP made me do it when there were increased cases in my area.. I’m glad I got to do it myself and not have somebody else do it for me even though there were so many steps to follow.. 😂😂.. cause ahh that nasal sample had me crying I can only imagine how much more painful it would’ve been for somebody else to stick the swab up my nose..
I've taken a test 3 times, yes.
It takes about 10 seconds, it is mildly irritating and may rush some tears into your eyes and make you feel like you want to sneeze.
But I know one crazy sensitive snowflake who literally couldn't handle those few seconds of a stick up his nose so the medical personnel got mad and gave him a mandatory quarantine order instead.
Twice. Came back negative both times. Once I just took one to make sure, then a couple weeks ago I was actually sick, so I got one again. They’re a breeze, q-tip gets swirled around each nostril, takes like 20 seconds altogether. Results by email by like 36 hours later i’d say.

I took it once. (The nose one)
The cotton reaches a really high place in the nose and it feels really dry. It really feels like the day before you get a cold your sinuses hurt and it feels like that when the cotton enters but obviously on one side. Then they take it out and it doesn’t hurt at all but it feels tingly.I did last week! It was free but had to wait in a three hour line in the car, like rush hour for 3 Hours then I got swabs stuck up my nose. A little pressure but not too bad. I got my results back on a Sunday three days later. I had to call them to get the result too which was interesting...
There were volonteers going round here to take a tiny blood sample (a needle into a finger)
It was no big thing.
However - I am aware that as long as I DON'T have it, there is a chance that I MIGHT get it later on.
Luckily, in 'my' country we only have a few cases. So I just keep avoiding obvious risks -and trust my good luck.Yes, my employer does the dried blood spot and saliva testing. The dried blood spot hurt like a mother; as you stick your finger tip, and I had to do it a couple of times since I clot easily in order to fill up the card. Granted I still think it is better than the mucuosal swab. The saliva test was so much easier as you just spit into a tube.
Yes, at the end of the last lock down in the UK I had to go to hospital for a procedure and the week before I had to have a test and isolate for a week leading up to the procedure. A swab at the back of the throat (made me gag slightly) and a nasal swab. It was negative.
I've already had covid a couple months ago. It was rough but I made it through it fairly easily compared to most. I still get winded fairly easy and I just recently gained most of my wait back
As for me I took the test once & when I did it I said WHAT THE FLUFF after I stuck the q-tip thing up my nose. The test is well worth it but the results took a week to get which by than you may or may not have it.
Yes and i whas positive.
For me it whas a pice of cake.
Nothing very serios, nothing schary, no hospital so in the end i don't care anymore for the pandemy as long i will be alive.
Will you save the world or will you save yourself. I choise just myself :)I never had to get one but did hear they stick a Q-tip up your nose and pretty much further up makes it a little uncomfortable?
Yes, I first tested positive. I had caught it from work. I was self quarantined for two weeks and then tested again and was negative and changed jobs to a safer company to work for.
Yep 3 times so far... my partner 5! Here in Lux they are regularily testing the majority of the population! All throat tests though for these regular tests 👍
I've had it twice, working in healthcare. It's no big deal just a q-tip up your nose a little farther than you might like but it more or less tickles. Not a big deal.
I never taken it and probably never need to take it. I’ve stayed indoors and when I’ve gone out I’ve always been protected by wearing a mask.
No, but it sounds horrible! Like is there really no other way to test but one of the most uncomfortable (maybe painful?) ways?
I'm actually planning on doing this tomorrow. I'm just wondering how painful it is. 🤔
I had to get tested before I could go for surgery this past August. I guess they didn't want anyone bringing covid into the surgery unit. It wasn't much at all. It was only a swab up the nose & it was done.
Yes twice not pleasant the guy who scratched my brain lives rent free in my mind. He was really cute 😍
Yes, I took it twice and it’s nothing. It was a bit uncomfortable for me getting that stick up my nose but it didn’t hurt.
Just once because my dad got it. It was hurtful and when i tried to hold on to a platform, they shouted at me😟
I have not husband has. Now everytime he sees pictures or videos of someone getting it done he cringes. So must such.
