Can eye color change?

Can eye color change suddenly after many years being one color? I know eyes have color based on light reflecting off of the amount of melanin pigment present in the iris more than them just being a color. I guess the question boils down to can the amount of melanin pigment in the iris suddenly decrease or increase causing the eye color to change suddenly after years.

Yes and no, there are things that can happen that can change the colour permanently and then for me I have green eyes but depending on the lighting I've had people ask me if I wore contacts because my eyes have been, Yellow, Hazel, Blue, Light Blue and Silver-ish grey-ish (exactly how it was described to me) I myself have never witnessed this as every time I've looked at my eyes they are a light forest green.

Yes it can change by many things including the sun. Always get it checked tho, Brown to green or blue to brown can be bad signs.

Mine have always been green with a brown inner ring around the pupil and a blue limbal ring around the outside of my iris but lately the green is turning light blue and the brown is fading out to yellow/ green color

It could be something to do with cholesterol deposits in the eye since they cause a blue ring that is actually white or yellowish but appears blue. But the other changes could be more serious stuff. Just have to really get it checked. My eyes are hazel and turn gold/orange at night time sometimes which is normal for me. It's not really a big change just the way contrast changes. But if it's significant changes needs to be changed.
Tbh i always prefer the golden orange wish it was permanent.

A change in eye color can mean several things and often a medical issue. I suggest seeing a doctor.

Yes I had thick bright brown areola around the pupil as child, new my eyes are blue, brown areola is barely visible.
