Does your eye color change in the sunlight?

I was today years old when I figured out some people's eye colors change when it's exposed to sunlight 🙃

technically, all of them will... lol

mine just become their true dark brown... if no sunlight, they're just black AF

well, basically... our eye color is determined by melanin

so as you know, under sunlight... we do produce more melanin, and then the color of our eyes might vary due to that, the thing is... brown eyes are usually shades of brown, so this variation is a lot less noticeable or not noticeable

meanwhile... the people with light eyes, whether is green, gold, blue, grey and all those specs of hazel will actually vary more and change from one to another, their change will be way more noticeable

Everything changes color depending on the lighting. Sunlight has a broader spectrum than almost all artificial light. Subtle reds that are invisible indoors are readily seen in sunlight.

It did as a small child. I was always outside. It went from deep red auburn to blonde highlights.

I just figured it out while scrolling through insta, some girl did a comparison when one of her eyes turned brown after covering the other in the sunlight

I searched it up after and it's normal, she had blue eyes so you can see the change I guess lol

Yes, I usually have bluey/grey with a hint of green, but when sun hits them it's like POW you're green.
