Like does sunlight have different effects on a black person and a white person?

Yes. This is a good thing. Sunlight is fantastic for health. Mood, immune system and many other functions of the body depends upon sunlight.

Melanin will increase the more sun you get. It will allow you to handle longer more intense direct sunlight before burning. It is direct sunlight that effects melanin. Sunlight though windows has the UV B missing. Clouds do not do this. So yes you can tan and burn on cloudy days.

At the start of the year around February I start getting more and more sun on my skin to prep for the longer warmer days. Currently I am quite dark and I can handle about 2-3 hours out in the direct sunlight now in July.

I don't believe in Sunscreen or any chemicals on my skin. Especially those that artificially lengthen my exposure. It is most important to not burn. So cover up with a shirt or umbrella instead of chemicals.

Yeah more melanin has more protection but they still can sunburn

Black or brown skin gets darker
