I'm sorry L2L! I was only trying to shed light on people's reasons. I myself feel SO EXTREMELY CONFLICTED about vaccines and boosters. Hearing what others think, I felt might help me, and maybe others, to make up their minds about the booster.

1. Because my mother is 90 years old and I don't want to get it and pass it along to her.
2. Because 7 of 11 employees in my office have had covid but I have not and I want to keep it that way.
3. Because I am president of my congregation and I need to lead by example.
4. Because I had absolutely no adverse response to my originial covid vaccinations.
And I suppose (5) you believe the vaccine can and will stop the pandemic? Correct?

@Guardian45 I think the vaccine will give me SOME protection from the virus and give me SOME protection from transmitting it to others. Certainly no guarantees.
I had both shots, but I am NOT convinced that I made the right decision!

@Guardian45 I think the vaccine can stop the pandemic itself. I think it has been made very clear that governments will ensure the crisis continues. This crisis has been an amazing way for government to give itself more power.
Governments can now shut down national economies indefinitely. "14 days to flatten the curve" now means governments can manage the economy for years at a time.
Governments have now set the precedent of outlawing protests for the sake of "national health", as though it cares so much about it, seeing that every plaza has a McDonalds in which the population is eating itself to death.
Government said once the majority of the population is vaccinated, we will go back to normal life. Now that the majority has vaccinated, they're doing everything they can not to go back.
A vaccine mandate for children is a power move. Healthy kids have basically not died from covid. Many a few, literally. Maybe 10 out of dozens of millions of children in the US.
It's now about testing how subservient we are to them. I don't believe in conspiracies. I don't think there is a master plan. I think they're just making decisions in the moment which align with their desires, the biggest of which is power. Having been able to control population travel, employment, money transfers, etc, they're high on power. Must be a high to be able to command 10 million people to sit at home while you go out for a haircut.
@Guardian45 So, in general, I don't think 3rd doses will let us go back to normal. If after 2 doses this is where we're at, I think even a 5th dose wouldn't do the trick. We will go back to normal once economic & political realities push the government to get off its imperial throne and remember who it serves. Vaccination is not what determines this.
My university enforces a strict set of rules many of which are clearly arbitrary. Masking while sitting alone? Seriously? Who are you saving from covid? The dust?
If a university with a 99.8%+ vaccination rate cannot go back to normal, then no number of doses will change anything.
I have never been so conflicted. Initially I drank the kool-aid and had my two shots, but subsequently I've come to believe this house is made of cards. There are TOO MANY inconsistencies with the pablum the public is being fed. I have seen with my own eyes things that don't make sense. I WON'T be getting the booster, cuz I now think it is smoke and mirrors!

@Guardian45 Partially company mandate, but mainly because the wife had cancer and didn't want to take a chance with her health. The only way she was able to get the vaccine quickly in the first place with through my company which meant I had to get it too so the wife could.

No reason to, haven't been sick this entire time and it doesn't even prevent it, my landlord got all his shots and still got it twice, and said the vaccines made him feel worse than the actual virus, so if I haven't been sick this entire time why would I voluntarily take something that makes me feel ill
