There needs to be something done to promote healthy eating and exercise.
There also needs to be something done to end food and energy poverty.
With families going to food banks in order to feed their kids, the options of eating healthy are greatly reduced.
it’s great being able to give kids a choice of food, however not all are like this.
Where families do have the funds, then a lot is then down to either poor parenting skills or social demographics.
When I was growing up, we could play various sports etc outside, these days in the same area, you run risk of getting stabbed Or mugged for your kit etc.
couple to that there are pretty much zero clubs, where there are clubs, it’s costs of membership, waiting lists.
Anyone in the UK tried joining a gym lately and looked at the cost of membership, then you can’t get parked to go, which means going at crazy times.
There is a lot of personal grit and determination to getting fit and healthy, however fast food places are too handy.
A lot of healthy food is both expensive and or does not fill you up.
Also we walked to and from school, a lot of kids get dropped off by parents, picked up, then sit around in house as they are miles from any clubs or sporting facilities.
Needs looked at but it’s a fairly deep subject with lots of knock on effects.
No rigourous exercise at school can be more destructive than being helpful because being on the other end of the scale sports lessons was the most horrible part of school.
I was fooled and made fun of because I wasn´t able to perform certain excises all the other kids could.
That´s the best way to destroy a self-confidence and to break a person down
A better way would be classes to teach children what´s healthy and how tasty that can be.
It would also involve a need to raise wages because healthy food is oftentimes way more expensive than fast food and especially poor families can´t afford that.
It would a regulation of the amount of sugar in soft drinks and other products.
All in all it needs a positive motivation campaign nothing that goes through a must-do campaign.
Something needs to be done but I don't believe rigerous exercise is the way to go. I've been overweight fro years, and the only time I was the correct weight was when I was doing 8-12 hours shifts on my feet with no breaks majority of the time I wasn't eating, I lost 3 half stone in five months. I remember days of coming home and thinking oh I haven't eaten yet and had a slice of toast and went to bed, all cause I wanted a bikini bod. Sometimes I think having too much of do this and do that will have the opposite effect. Plus the best things are often food, it's so nice to eat that there is nothing that is cheap enough and is compareable
With kids it is a slippery slope because its the parents who are far too lazy to cook and buy all these fast food meals and prepackaged garbage. It starts at home with school age kids, without change in the home, there will be no change for the younger generations. When I was a kid we did have video games but we were outside all summer long not inside on tv and video games. There should be still mandatory gym class, here it has been kicked outta schools which is just insane. You have parents on social media, dating apps etc and too lazy to cook, starts at home for younger kids. Adults you are an adult your issue and or problem
Agreed because the weight they put on as a kid is very hard for them to ever lose and they will put on more as they age.
Yup- they are stuck in those eating patterns 90 percent drag those into their adulthood. I work medical and see it everyday.
An obese person fell on me on an escalator and broke my leg and 3 ribs. Fat bitch acted like she was the victim.
Holy shit girl! That is horrible.
though some are heavy by medication, like steroids. But overall its lifestyle.
I don't know where you're coming from but here in California gym classes are still mandatory
That is definitely the case in middle and high school. Not sure about elementary

How do you ban it? My schools always had required physical education classes that the only way to get out of was with a medical exemption.
Same thing with adults though, how do you ban it? bullying or being mean just causes worse mental disorders, including up to suicide. You can't bully or force someone into being a healthy weight.
Best I can say is school should still continue to teach it.
Why were people in the past s healthy weight? Because being fat was shamed. Fat people are less likely to commit suicide if they aren't fat.
It's the healthier option in my opinion, you aren't helping their health by convincing them that nothing is wrong because realistically, it's not, their health is at risk everyday and if they aren't aware of the health issues and they get told there's nothing wrong then they will feel no need to change or no reason to change until its too late and they have a health problem.
The majority of obese people don't make it past their 40s if it's at a young age and who knows, possibly even younger, it's no joke
That's super obese. The obese can live until their 70s though they put a massive strain on the health system.

I don't go by what the internet says on that, the human body can react different with different people, obese will eventually become super obese unless they change and children already being obese will most likely mean that by their 40s they will be super obese if not in a hospital before that, let's not mention if diseases like diabetes or heart failure running in genetics, that can also make it worse and possibly even more risky for them, if kids are fat at a young age with society telling them there's nothing wrong with it then the chances of them being super obese as adults are pretty high
There are plenty of obese middle aged people. Less now since covid
Yea the ones that have the best immune system, either ways, their future is shorter than the average human
You can't ban it without creating Communism. I agree that "fat acceptance" is harmful, and schools should not be contributing to the problem (maybe ban sodas and sugary drinks) but let people eat whatever they want. I know many people have an unhealthy, messed-up hatred for overweight people, but if you hate them that much, then they'll "take care of themselves."
I don’t think it’s right to ban fat acceptance. Fat acceptance was a movement created to ban bullying of overweight people. Bullying can leave permanent mental scars and trauma that people never fully recover from. It’s not right to promote bullying of fat people at all.
We need to make people accept fat people as part of our society but you must look for constructive ways instead of harmful ways to promote healthy lifestyles
YES & NO
We need to glorify exercise and healthy life style!
Glorifying fit bodies or bodies in general has gotten us no where but plastic.
We need to show kids that if they are fat, that doesn't mean they are less than. They can change and on top of that we are Gods greatest creation as far as we know.
But above all else GLORIFY exercise and healthy life style! There are so many benefits other than appearance and health.
No. I think the government at this point is putting its nose where it doesn’t belong. Why should they care about the weight of someone else’s child? I hate that P. E. is required in America. Because of this, I had to suffer through four semesters of emotionally abusive gym teachers because I wasn’t allowed to drop the classes. All this, even though I work out outside of school.
I’m also not obese to begin with.
Someone has to pay the cost of these obese people being taken care of as a result of their weight problem. Diabetes, blood pressure, inability to walk without a walker or wheel chair, cannot fit in an airplane seat special 'accomidations in the office. A 400 pound woman broke the legs/wheels off of one of our office chairs.
That’s you. Was PE helpful for other children? Yes. Maybe it started them exercising, or they made new friends playing a basketball or volleyball game.
@Agagagagaga That doesn’t mean it should be required.
No accept obesity. It's the mans duty to select what he likes. Don't get thirsty men, if you want obesity to end, don't enable it, don't date obese. But do be encouraging friends. Do that.
It's long past time. Lazy self-destructive habits and lack of personal responsibility are painfully rampant. Respect your body if you want real men to respect you. I'm not saying be a rail, but there's no excuse for obesity if you aren't in a wheelchair.
Not just because type 2 is the one you shame people for but because it poisons the mind and weakens the spirit life isn’t about getting what you want all the time snacks and drive through foods shouldn’t replace meals they’re treats people sometimes food eat when you are hungry or found something good to watch (I just found out season 2 of demon slayer is almost 12 episodes in now and I just had an insane cheat day ) not just bored
When I was in high school gym class was something that everyone had to take. I was surprised to hear it is not like that anymore.
It is still like that in MOST schools
Redhead, I have a 1st cousin, that is, at this minute, dying as a result of her long term obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Also has 70% blockage of left curated artery
People can't remain healthy
You must have heard that scientist have found micro plastic in human blood, I dont think any sort of workout or food habit can save someone from bad affects now
In most cases obesity is nothing more than a lack of self control and poor choices. Lack of self control and poor decisions are not to be celebrated but shamed if anything.
Yep, and too much indulgence in self gratifying unhealthy food.
It’s from both shay.
Consuming excess unrequited energy. No one ever got fat from overindulgence on vegetables.
I known multiple people in my life who are healthily but had very sedentary lifestyles. Even for myself , I started working a strict sedentary job 9 hours a day. I did no workouts outside of work. I gained 15 pounds over the past 10 months. Nothing in my diet has changed
The carbs that you eat can make you fat if you don’t burn it off. Carbs such as breads pasta potatoes noodles rice Are not necessarily considered unhealthy
Not gonna happen. Liberals can’t even tell you what a woman is
😂😂😂😂😂
Both? i don't want them to feel bad which would probably make it worse whatever situation is causing it. But i also think it's a good idea to promote healthier lifestyle.
Absolutely. The right response to being fat is to take action. Not just accept it. That's why far shaming is a good thing. Being fat is a decision. Not a disability.
I think it's time to ban bad parenting. The only reason this has become such a problem is because of terrible parents feeding their children garbage. But more excercise would benefit children.
Maybe it's more effective to force food industry to sell normal food again without high-fructose corn syrup and hardened fat that should be a diesel substitute, instead playing the GESTAPO on kids.
Agreed. That'll only make kids fatter AND traumatized
rigorous exercise programs are unecessary, but promoting healthy eating is definitely good.
In part but that requires changing the economy to afford to only have one working parent whilst the other is a homemaker who can cook quality food
Both parents can work and still make healthy meals.
Possible but look at the correlation between the growth of duel income households and childhood obeicity
I fail to see what makes "fat acceptance" ads any more healthy than smoking ads. One is promoting heart disease and diabetes, leading killers, and the other lung cancer. Take your pick.
Don't know. Fags don't have ads anymore. Fat acceceptance is actively promoting the normalcy of obesity
Anyone who voted bottom is the problem to the environment. Sorry to burst TMI, but fat people's poop spread far more subtle pollution in the sewer
fattys should be imprisoned and deprived of food until they're a normal weight.
Neither, you can't force someone to be less fat, so don't bother. Information and examples are fine, forcing exercise is not.
Neither. If others aren't willing to take stock in themselves than that's their fuckery.
100%. We need a return to normalcy.
I think it's wrong to accept being UNHEALTHY
It's part of depopulation agenda...
Yes, it kills people.
Yes, and that's coming from a former fat person.
Its not goood to be fat
You got my vote.
Or we could shift focus on a healthier lifestyle
Yes of course
