Masks reduce spreading of infected saliva aerosol while coughing a little bit and lower possibility of breathing in saliva aerosol excreted by others. Once the moisture evaporates and viruses float in the air (in such microscopic dimension is air like water), normal masks don't stop viruses.

(I voted no) All viruses cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment... masks reduces oxygen and over time will place you at higher risk. Decades of RCT show masks do not work for protection against viruses. The best way to deal with COVID is to increase the oxygen avaliable to your body. Nebulizing once a week with H202 and saline will reduce risks of infection to the point I'd be surprised if anyone regardless of age still caught it after doing so.

No they don't. Why? A virus is so small and these kind of masks do not and can not stop a virus that can't be seen unless you use a special telescope. If you use a gas mask! Yes, that will help.
