Is there any painless way to die?

I'm not planning to suicide haha. I was curious about this. I remember when I was suicidal and searched this then I got no result rather than 'Help is available'. The thought just came across my mind and I am curious whether painless death is possible or not? at least what is the least painless method to die (not natural)? Rather than dying in sleep lol.

Gag please don't take up this question. I really don't have any intentions to suicide. I'm genuinely curious.

According to me the most painless way to die is overdosing of sleeping capsules and go to the deepest sleep ever.

After surviving a number of things that should have killed people and unfortunately being around some old people as they died, I'm thoroughly convinced there's no painless way to do it.

It is going to hurt. It's going to hurt like you're going to die which is more hurt than we've probably ever experienced. I don't think we can ever get so old even though we get used to chronic pains in the process and take them for granted that the boundary between life and death is not going to hurt more than anything we've ever experienced before, however briefly.

It's gonna hurt! It's going to hurt in ways I never wish you have to experience. But it's gonna hurt. The only exception I think is heavily drug-induced.

I can do one better than “painless”; I know how to make dying actually feel GOOD.

An overdose on opioids, such as fentanyl or morphine is going to be a pleasant feeling of falling asleep plus the pleasant feelings of the drugs. Then the overdose causes you to stop breathing. The most pleasant way would involve having assistance, or even a machine that administered more and more gradually, that way you would start off with a pleasant high and it would be more gradual rathe than like falling quickly.

My preference is the opposite; to have the most painful and exciting experience possible. My current choice is being torn apart by a pride of lions. I just think it would be amazing and it’s my last moments of life, so I prefer a new experience rather than something gentle I’ve done before like falling asleep.

The pills are not painless. As a military medic I saw many service members commit suicide through various means. The theory behind pill popping as suicide is that you go in your sleep. In practice, your liver and kidneys fail first and that is very painful. An overdose of pills can also cause stroke and myocardial infarctions (commonly known as heart attacks). Your body senses this failure yet the pills dull your ability to speak or breathe in a massive overdose.

In the worst-case scenario in pill popping, you lay there helpless as your chest is in severe pain, you feel like you are suffocating, your kidneys feel like a knife with battery acid is stabbing you and your liver feels like it got punched by a boxer wearing brass knuckles. This description may be off slightly, but you get the picture. It is not a pretty way to go.

Yeah I guess sleeping pills, or naturally dying in your sleep (hopefully how I go! lol). But I even question the sleeping pills, as with any pill, your body is going to naturally reject it and try to get rid of it (puking etc), so might wake you up and not be so "peaceful"? lol.

Yes please don't be serious about it you are a very smart and kind girl. The funny thing is most people die by suffocation if you think about. If you get shot somewhere other than your brain you will bleed a lot so your brain doesn't get enough oxygen and that's how you die. So basically any death that doesn't involve destroying your brain is suffocation lol

I'd think suicide would be the most painful way to die because you're so emotionally destroyed, racked with guilt, unhappy, etc. You plot out your own demise out of self hatred or whatever and then carry it out. Seems like a complete shit way to die.

Most people with terminal illnesses don't really see it coming, but then battle for life for a month or two in the hospital, sometimes several times before there isn't anything else that can be done and then they have to let go.

I have read about this too. It just feels uncomfortable as if you are getting engulfed in a super cool blanket. Your body just slowly freezes in a solid hard structure. It's like an uncomfortable sleep. Very uncomfortable but not painful. You don't really feel pain as there is no damage in body. It's just paused forever.

Not really. They aren't painful at all. Survivors say that you feel very cold even after staying in hot bath. Your inner temperature isn't there as it comes out with blood. When the core temperature is only dropped down then you may feel warm in skin but you won't feel inner warmth. You will feel super cold then also.

Well, If I had to I would try CO2 over-saturation with a big plastic bag and tape. For me it's only an option if physical pain might become unbearable. This method demands to bind you hands together as long in the bag is enough oxygen. After losing consciousness it's good possible you could remove the bag in pre-exitus delirium. After this short unpleasant moment there is just sweet land of Nirvana.

Nope Cub. That doesn't works. After getting shot or Decapitation you are still alive for few second. You feel extreme pain which you can't tolerate and the blood flow is messed up so you die. It can be the fastest way to die though but not a painless way.

Once a car accident happened where the driver got decapitated. The passenger in back suffered few deep cuts but he was alive. The decapitated head of the driver was in front of him and the face was alive! It showed confused face it first then a horrific face and died.

There were also apparently some tests done with decapitations during the guillotine where decapitated heads could still blink in ways that registered what the people asking questions could ask the head. Blink twice for yes, blink once for no, that sort of thing. Might just be an urban legend but I learned it in the serious context of a psychology course long ago. The nervous system of the detached head could still register cognitive things that required actual processing beyond instinct, like verbal processing, before it died.

Not really. I read in an article that a sharp pain hits to your brain when you inhale water. And you get cramps when your body doesn't receives oxygen for energy due to release of Amino acids. I have experienced it too.
