Vegetarians vs eating meat?

- While it isn't necessary healthier I noticed when becoming vegan that I cared a lot more about my nutrition and ate a lot healthier and more balanced as I was basically forced to. I could see something similar happening to vegetarians. It's a really good opportunity to switch to a healthier diet but you can just as easily eat crap. Having or not having meat in one's diet doesn't say much about how healthy it is in the end.Is this still revelant?

- Personally I see no point in being anything but an omnivore. I don't really understand the cruelty aspect of it. Are you talking about the meat industry or just the act of killing an animal? Is this still revelant?
I saw a video of a slaughter house. The lambs were just pitiful, they tried to hide their faces in a corner but one by one were pulled out and electrocuted. Pigs were also shocked then hung on hooks and blasted with a flame thrower to burn their hair off. Most were still alive and were reacting to the fire the whole time. Cattle were probably the most merciful, they were stunned by a bolt gun to their heads and it seemed to kill most instantly, a few had to be hit twice. There was no sign of life in them as they went into the processing stage. So it is most definitely the act of killing. Someone else said it was weak to consider animals. I told him and will say again not many people would call me weak, not physically, not in my knowledge. I have learned how to kill humans, I know how to kill and process everything from elk to rabbits. We maintain weapons to defend ourselves and should the need arise survive in the wild. So my kindness and considering how animals suffer is not weakness.
If it's purely just the killing aspect, I'd say you are weak. Not physical weakness, but your spirit, your mind. I bet you, as a hunter, understand that in nature, cruelty is everywhere, it's part of life and feeling compassion can mean your own death.
I will agree that some slaughter houses don't consider merciful deaths to these animals. A merciful death if too expensive in the eyes of corporations. Some say it's because of the fear energy, related to karma type of stuff.
If you eat fear and pain you become it.
So there's definitely no harm being done if you milk your pet cow and have a friendly relationship with her.
I'd think eating eggs which doesn't require killing, still the hens are in fear and pain when you steal the eggs... and yet they're often dumb enough to eat their own eggs, so do they really care?
Anyway I still eat meat but try to only eat males as females have large amounts of estrogens and I don't want to grow man boobs. It's also more ethical to eat males because a rooster can stomp around many females, it is not necessary to keep 1:1.- Show All Show Less
@Guy__
"If you eat fear and pain you become it." You are what you eat, I guess I'd agree to some point.
Assuming that an animal is dumb because it eats it's own, is pretty dumb. You need to understand that self preservation is a primal instinct to any animal, if not vegetation too.
I understand that wanting to become a more powerful male is a primal desire for males, but will you become a eunuch, cutting off your balls since they produce some estrogen? Will you remove your brain, bones because they convert testosterone to estrogen so you can get it up or so that you are actually fertile? There's a big difference in eating estrogen filled meat and what we naturally produce. I don't think I have to explain. It's about quantities.
I think it's pretty obvious that you get off on explaining how tough and superior you are because you like the idea of killing things. I'd love to know exactly how many of the animals you eat that you kill and process yourself. Of course you'll answer that you've killed every type animal on the planet and that you're quite possibly the greatest hunter who's ever lived. I just am not impressed with you trying to insult everyone who's not in the woods with a 308 stalking elk and bear.
I eat little meat, and whatever I do eat I make sure there is no fear energy and it is very nutritious, which is hardly possible without growing and processing the animal yourself, and because I'm a male I don't eat estrogenic tissues, think of especially concentrated ones like breasts of animals... before hormones were synthesized they were extracted from animals, so its foolish to eat estrogens as men.
@Guy__ Your concern about ingesting estrogen is to an extent understandable. I don't know how much of it does the body absorb through either the stomach or intestines. As paranoid as I am, micromanaging from which animal the meat is coming from, anything but hunting the animals yourself can't reliably give you the desired product.
If you do do that, hat's off to you sir.@pattij If you're going to make such a hyperbolic argument, I can call you a hypocrite for believing you're above everyone else just because you decided to eat veg and can bench 240 lbs.
To the same extent I can make an overly exaggerated statement, that being a vegan/vegetarian is just as damaging because you're taking life to feed yourself, destroying habitats by supporting big veg.I really think there's something mentally wrong with you. Seriously talk to someone you need help. But since you're clearly so superior to me why don't you menu plan for me and let me know exactly what I should be eating. I'm honestly unclear why what people eat bothers you so intently. I literally couldn't care less what you or anyone else eats yet you insult everyone who dares to not eat as you do. Hey maybe start a chain of restaurants where people don't order but you tell them what they're going to have and they darn well better like it. You could be famous, no wait you're only a cartoon face hiding behind a keyboard. It's going to be hard to become famous that way. Maybe you could hire someone to be the face behind your restaurant empire. You could just tell them what to feed people and teach them to be a condescending twat. Yeah that will work better AND that way you can remain anonymous.
- I did some years ago, and haven't felt any real benefits, but i don't really eat any more or any less healthy. Maybe a doctor can see some benefits with a blood test.Is this still revelant?

03- there are no health benefits to not eating meat. it's also a sign of being too sympathetic. such weakness did not make us the dominant speciesReact

I don't think having sympathy for animals is a weakness. And should the need arise I have the ability to kill and dress any animals in our area. It's a skill set everyone should have with today's danger of war or civil unrest. As for being weak, I bench press over 240 lbs, I leg press just under 700 lbs. I wrestle, I've been in more fights than I care to remember and sadly had to learn to use firearms and had to carry one constantly at one time. I don't always carry now, but weapons are always either in the car or close by. A 9mm is on the nightstand beside me, a 12 ga pump shotgun under the bed and an AR15 in the closet. Sadly we have many more guns, we have a compound bow which I also can use. And ammo reserves numbering in the thousands of rounds. So I am not someone most people would call weak. I know how to harvest land animals, fish and fowl. I choose not to. It is kindness not weakness that drives me.
- I'm more Carnivore then Omnivore. I don't feel well if I don't get enough red meat.React

I used to think that, but now I think salt is the thing I'd miss more than meat. I'm finding ways to replace meat that I really find just as good. Well a grilled out steak can't be substituted nor can a whole baked chicken but I'm trying.
