Will you get the polio vaccine now that its back?

This is where social media needs to clamp down on the anti Vax side of things.
Kids will get polio because adults make fun of it or do this Anti Vax bollox.
This is a real fucking nightmare IF people do not get vaccinated.

I knew that polio was considered wiped out in many parts of the world, but I didn't know they stopped giving the vaccine. It has never been eradicated worldwide, so it's still a danger. I know there have been some big outbreaks in places like Philippines and SE Asia.
The question is irrelevant to me, because polio vaccines were standard when I was a kid. There were still a lot of polio victims around. If it were today though, yea I'd get it. Polio is pretty nasty. As a kid I remember really feeling sorry for those people when I saw them.
They still are given,
This is a result of the old type polio vaccine finding it’s way in to sewers

The big concern is that people jump on the Covid anti Vax thing and do not vaccinate their kids.
@ChrisMaster69
OK thanks. What is a Red Book? Is that a general medical record or something specific to vaccine?
I guess I misunderstood the original question. I thought he meant the vaccine was back like they stopped giving it. But he means the virus is back.
And yea, I can see the COVID anti-vax thinking spreading to other vaccinations. COVID anti-vax was because it was new and untested, which at least somewhat understandable. But that's no excuse for not getting vaccines that have been around for decades.
@WindAtMyBack it’s basically early years information, including vaccinations.

Eventually these are available via your NHS online portal and you have a through life record of all vaccinations and when due renewal.
@ChrisMaster69
I don't think we have something like that here, but I don't keep up with it so I don't know for sure.
My parents and a lot of other parents had something similar. But it was not standardized and it was something the parents did on their own. It had some medical stuff in it, plus things like first words, first steps, etc. I think mine should still be around somewhere but I haven't seen it in a long time.

I wonder if I got the vaccine when I was a child? I was born in the early 90s and my parents got me all the recommended jabs.

Sounds familiar... it seems many of you still haven't learned a thing.
