Would you know it if a squirrel or chipmunk bit you?

One of my cats got excited about some animal, then made a new hole in the screen door.
She ran out and ran back in once she noticed she was outside (She's a indoor cat.), could something have gotten in there in the time she was out there?

Out of fear yes they will bite and bite hard. They can remove a finger! If you know them and they want your attention, they can bite very softly harder and harder until you acknowledge them. They could come in but you would know it by now. They are very safe and just want food. Do not fear them.
