Got into blowouts with to many therapists. One kept missing appointments showing up late using his daughter as an excuse he couldn't find a babysitter happened for 2 years never gave any coping skills unless it came down to me yelling at him to, had two other therapists who were very defensive judgmental argumentative. If I said anything negative or criticized the state we lived in in any negative way they both took defense to that and started arguing and even said I shouldn't defend myself from any attackers I told them really you're full of shit you would be the first ones defending yourselves and you'd be the first ones calling the cops so don't give me that bullshit. Then I had another who kept saying to forget about the past move on and I told him the whole point of me going to therapy was so I can work on dealing with the traumatic events of my past that's the whole point of therapy. Then I had another who literally instigated fights over my old student loans whining saying oh they haven't come after you yet. Then I had another who spent most of my therapy sessions talking about my art work rather then actually talking about my issues.

I think anytime that you can talk to somebody and if they understand what you're talking about and who you are it's always going to benefit you but you need to listen and you need to be open to any and everything because your friend could be a therapist and help you just buy one key word when you read a question on here it could just be one key word that makes you think of something and help you
It will only help you if you are comfortable with and respect the doctor. Otherwise it is a complete waste of time.
I think it depends on the therapist, but it definitely can. It worked for me, just made me generally happier.

I haven't been to therapy, but I would assume that the most helpful type is cognitive behavioral therapy, as they actually give you tasks to work on throughout the week. Whereas humanists just sit and listen to you
I've seen 1 therapist, 5 times. It didn't do it for me. Probably just wrong therapist. Not sure how to find a better one.
Yes absolutely.. it gives you the tools to help deal with certain situations.. I'm better for doing it.
Definitely they’re trained specialists and excel at helping people
I've been to a psychologist before and it does help more than most people think
Yes it does work but it’s directly proportional to the honesty you put in it
I don't feel it's beneficial for me.
