I actually think I'd prefer to show weakness in front of strangers rather than friends/family but I'd also prefer to talk about weaknesses/serious things over text or call I don't know, it depends

People above you will see in you a threat if you don't show any weaknesses they could exploit. Of course is giving them real weaknesses is a stupid idea because they could abuse it. It's better to give them something else that isn't real.
