Yes, I agree. It's definitely a lot colder than years past!
It's the same to me.
For me, winters from years past were colder.

It's just you. I've had MUCH colder winters!! The last one was about 2014. I only had to walk about 3 blocks to get to work but it was SO FUCKING COLD I got a block away from the place and just felt like collapsing in the snow because I just couldn't take it anymore!! And I don't even wear a sweater outside unless it's in the upper 30's!!
2014 wasn't bad at all for me. Maybe it depends on where you live. That obviously can make a difference, if not a big one! But I still believe in Global Change because I just took a Geography class last year and the Methane that gets released into the o-zone is NEVER good for the environment! That book was written in 2014 coincidentally. So it's probably added a lot more of it now than in the past. Not only that but I used to be able to wear tank tops and just one layer in previous winters, now I'd be lucky with two (or three, if I am sick).
Absolutely! I'm a few hundred miles south of Canada.
There's no such thing as global warming, et., al.. If what we're doing here is causing the planet to heat up, why is it also getting warmer on Jupiter? If it's something we have to worry about, why did Barry Soetoro just buy a $10,000,000 mansion on the shore of the ocean? Why are climate activists still taking private jets to all their global warming meetings, even if they're only a a half an hour's drive away? Why are we still selling cigarettes? Why are some people still building bonfires on a very regular basis, even during the summer when it's hot out?
Well, then, I guess every living thing on the planet should stop farting!
Well, if you're getting colder, why would you think the planet is warming up?
Like I said, it's not solely "Global Warming". Scientists are saying more accurately that it's Global Change. In my book, I saw pictures of the hole in the ozone layer. Then in the next section, I saw it all patched up. Either someone isn't giving complete information and has PHOTOSHOPPED some of the evidence of extreme weather (maybe the Germans did it somehow I don't know!), but somethings not adding up! Like I said, I was able to even wear shorts in the winters in years past (like teenagers and young adults stupidly do), now I am lucky if that is the case! Yes, maybe it's because I had the flu recently, but still, sometimes it's a LITTLE too cold for comfort for me!
Like I said, it's not global warming AT ALL!!
I remember a gig we played in Youngstown in the mid `90's in early Dec.. After the gig, at around 3;00 a. m., we went to someone's house for a very small party that we held OUTSIDE in their back yard!! We were all running around in shorts and playing Frisbee because it was in the 70's!! By sun-up, the wind started howling and the temps dropped to the low 50's. Kinda like right here the past few days. 3 days ago, it was in the 40's. Last night, we got hit with something they're calling a bomb cyclone and it started snowing like hell!! It's in the teens, now and will drop to the single digits in a few hours. Apparently, we're gonna GET a white Christmas BUT, by next Friday, it'll be back in the upper 50's, again!
Ozone repairs itself.
You're not old enough to remember but, back in the `70's we were being told we're heading for another ice age in just a few years! That never happened, either!
These, so-called, "scientists" you talk about and seem to listen too, don't know their hole from an ass in the ground!! REAL scientists will debunk them consistently with facts and evidence to prove them wrong!
We are suddenly having really cold weather but up until now it hasn't been too cold.
I disagree. To me the winters (AND the summers) have been getting EXTREMELY colder and hotter in the recent decades.
I don't know WHY peoples have been in VAST denial about Climate Change, but it's here and unless we do something (or there hasn't been IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE), then maybe we can SALVAGE the extreme results of our carelessness but I don't know really! I don't have much confidence! We've neglected the weather and been selfish towards our planet for WAY too long in my opinion! And our children and our children's children are definitely going to suffer for it! In fact it's already here and here to say it seems!
Well the avarage is probably normal or even higher this year, but we had much colder min temperatures this year. We had and have much more differences in temperature in rapid succession. At least were I live.
Yeah it's colder this year then last year
Exactly. I believe that as well. Last year wasn't as bad.

It was in the 20’F/-6°Cs last week. Christmas will be 80°F/26°C…. Ridiculous.
One year it was so cold a lot of the trees in my area died. So it has been colder.
MHO.
Holy crap!
Wait, I just realized, 80°F is not cold at all. Are you sure you typed in the numbers in correctly? ! I would definitely not mind having an 80°F degree Christmas! :) That would be awesome!
No mistake. I was showing the dramatic temperature difference over such a short time. We were hoping for snow.
about the same for me... which is a weak winter for another year in a row here at Southern Texas, for December anyway
I feel a lot colder but I think that's just cause I lost weight. Other people I'm around say it's about the same as b4.
Don't let them ghaslight you. True that when you have less fat in your body, it's more able to feel cold but it shouldn't be THAT dramatic. I think it's colder as well, especially in comparison to last year, but especially the years/decades past! Before, I was good with just ONE layer. Now I have to put on MULTIPLE layers of clothing, especially at night. I feel so bad for our plants outside!
Well that's true. I think I'm more believe it cuz i lost both fat and muscle. And when I first started working out I noticed a difference in winter too. Not a lot tho. So maybe they are the ones exaggerating. I ain't even been layering tho I got a big fluffy coat. Wear that every day outside. Need to wash it lol
Yeah we have cactuses and one of our windows broke, a whole pots dead. Froze in just like an hour. But we have no pets so. That's nice. Hopefully urs do ok if they outdoor they're tougher.
My dogs been indoor thankfully. We love her THAT much. We don't take her out unless it's for walks. There's also cayotes were I live and she's a smallish Chihuahua so yeah..
Lol nice. Dogs are pretty cool.
I selected C but that's only true where I live compared to previous winters here.
Winter changes every year.
The coldest I lived through was 1981
Lol, you were 4 in 1981. You were already aware of temperature changes and their averages then? ! Strange.
When I opened this account my fat fingers hit 77 instead of 66 when asking for my birth year. When I realized it it was too late. I’m 56.
Thanks for doing the math and figuring that out.
When I engage anyone one on one I’ll make sure to tell them.
The ash in the atmosphere from the eruption of mt st Helen’s was affecting weather patterns across North America.
Minnesota set a record that year. We went over 30 consecutive days where the temperature never moved above zero, Fahrenheit. We had a few days of -50 to -70 degrees and windchill on top of that brought the perceived temperature to -100 degrees Fahrenheit. We had a wood stove that year for heat. We’d wake up to frozen water pipes in the house. Your breath came out as steam. You didn’t want to get out of bed but it was so cold that if we didn’t start a fire we’d freeze. It hasn’t been that bad since. What we’re dealing with now might be uncomfortable for younger folks who have not seen bad weather before. But it’s nowhere near as bad as it could be.
Yes but maybe you lived in a colder place? I think it's dependent on that too. Plus, Global Warming wasn't as prominent back then compared to now. I recently studied Geography and they had a section on Global Warming for some reason. They said the term "Global Change" was more accurate. The Methane that gets released into the air makes the temparatures warmer because it produces more heat, but I feel that what they were basically saying was that it could go either way! Methane probably AMPLIFIED things! I remember in the 90's, the winters weren't that bad, even in the 2000's, as one or two jackets for me was enough. Now, I have to put on MULTIPLE layers just to be okay!
I don't know anything about 1981, but I think in '86, certain parts of Montana registered -60 F. Even in the Southeast, certain places hit -28. I think that was an all time record winter.
In the 70’s the scientists said we were going to have another mini ice age before the end of the century.
The people with money know what’s coming. That’s why obama just spent $8 million on a house at Martha’s vineyard with an altitude of 18”…because sea levels were gonna rise.
I guess they’re only gonna rise 6”? So his $8 million investment is safe, right?
Not sure where you are but winter here is always cold with lots of snow.
it has been getting down to close to freezing at night here in SoCal. That is a big difference from the last few years.
Yes it is, but it can't be and still have global warming...
Thing is, most scientists are calling it "Global Change" instead of "Global Warming" per my Geography textbook I had last year. I thought it meant that things were getting warmer (only) at first as well because the o-zone layer keeps on getting depleted by a lot every year! Officials (Government Officials at the UN and all that), held a conference in 2010 about this and they also said that the 0-zone layer was getting fixed. If that's the case, then yes, WHY have we had more SEVERE or extreme wheather phenomena than in years past? ! I'd like to believe that it really did get fixed or that it's just me (because I did get sick with the colds recently. or maybe that was the Flu, I don't know, maybe even my aging), but it just can't be! Not if everyone else is feeling it including my family and friends!
Either someone's been lying about the o-zone layer (the earth's natural neutralizer and protective coating from the extreme) or the earth's atmosphere has been DAMAGED beyond repair!
That conference they held way back then, only like 50% or so, of the world's biggest polluting countries signed treaties that would help the environment or green acts that help the planet!
If you look closely everything moves in cycles. You have yearly cycles, 10 year cycles, 100 year cycles and so on. I believe a lot of this is from a cycle that takes place every so often but hasn't been looked at that way or has been so long ago that it might not have been recorded.
They vary year over year (both cold and precipitation/snow and ice).
It's you, and you're getting older, dumbass. Of course you are going to feel temperature changes more and your tastes are going to change.
God why be mean? ! What'd I do to you! YOU'RE the DUMBASS! I'm not 60!
global warming is happening lmao
Actually Global Change. I took a Geography class last year and the class included it because it affects everyone in the world. Scientists and experts are preferring it to be called Global Change. I think that is more accurate. Seeing that we are both getting extremes of BOTH hot and cold. .. And I blame the hole in the ozone layer for it! ... My textbook showed pictures where it was patched up, but I DOUBT that was a true picture. I got sick last week with Covid so that might not have helped me in feeling warmer, but it is definitely getting colder. Getting extreme one way or the other sadly, and I've noticed this since the turn of the century to be honest..!
