I read this wrong at first. I thought it said 45% will be single mothers lol. I'm like isn't it already like that?

Ok then, as far as women not having children I think it's fine. As long as our economies are dense and complex, we can adjust to whatever happens.

We also have too many people as it is. All the religious nutjobs are worried about declining birth rates because they think the Bible says "to be fruitful." (That's also why they don't like the gays.)

We have 8 fucking billion people today. We have plenty.

I honestly think that the population can safely continue to grow though. So long as economies stay free and trade is still easy, we can grow a lot.

But the opposite happens in those countries who are best off. People are more capable of CHOOSING when to reproduce. Reproduction more and more becomes a matter of choice, not a matter of just being a horny human who is going to fuck no matter what and end up having kids like in poor countries.

Anyways so the religious right is afraid that as capitalism brings us more wealth that will mean the continued atomization of society and declining birth rates until God comes and smiles us for being bad and not making babies.

The only valid concern is, resources. How will we get resources to those who need it. That is accomplished by trade, markets, freedom.

We should go towards freedom regardless of the fears about society and its future. That's what I think.

That's probably about right. We are already reaching a point where roughly a third don't have kids at all, a third will only have one (maybe two), and the last third will have many. Our population would be in decline already if it weren't for immigration.

I know I have more friends my age who have never married than I would have ever thought would be. Now all of them are not childless in fact most have one or more kids. Some from very short term marriages

I think in Canada 50% of adults are unmarried and around that much are childless. it might not be that way in places like China but life is changing.

Not sure why it's aimed at just women. And in not sure why everyone needs to have kids. We have plenty of humans as is. Life keeps getting more expensive, having kids is super expensive. People want to enjoy life and have some money doing so. I kinda hope birth rates drop. We need less not more. Humans are way too evasive.

Maybe because women initiate 70% of divorces, and in total 76% admitted to ending a long term relationship in a study. Then you have to factor into -
1. Women are incentivized for promiscuous behavior and divorces.
2. Women are also the sexual selection force in nature, that's why it's the men wooing the women and not the other way around.

Although yeah that's still not a complete collection of qll the factors. The bigger problem is, that it's a bigger problem for women. Men are fertile for much longer, tbut the chances of a woman's life quality and value in the dating market plummeting after her mid 30s is far higher than it is for men.

People have been warning this since the 80s but it's more of a class problem. The higher in class the more this problem occurs. That's why it is believed white people will disappear. Unless Mexicans become the new white people.
