I gained weight?

I thought I weigh 99-101 lbs but today I weighed myself again and it's 106lbs. how is that possible to gain 5 lbs in 1 week?

Your weight can fluctuate by 1-10 lbs depending on the day, when you weigh, &c. It is before or after you have a poop? Or a big meal? Or even drinking bunch of water?

I used to weigh myself every morning when I woke up, when I was working out every day and trying to reduce my weight. My daily weight would fluctuate somewhere between 3-8 lbs so I didn't think of it as gaining weight or losing it in a day, I looked for trends.

A daily weigh in might look like this: 175, 178, 177, 174, 179, 175, 174, 172, 175, 173, 176, 171, 169, 173, 171, 170, 170, 169, 174, 169, 170, 172... and so on. In that time for this example I might say to people "I've lost about 5 lbs this last couple weeks." even though the highest and lowest range was more like 10 lbs.

I gained 50 pounds in 2 months when I started eating like a normal person and got off my cigarettes and energy drink diet lol. Now that I'm at a normal weight, it's much harder to gain any more

Interesting. I really don't know then. I think you might have body image issues that you're unaware of. Because 106 lbs is a very low BMI for an average height woman your age

I guess you can stop eating for a day or two, and just drink water. The weight will go away, but that seems like a bad idea. It's your body though

Your weight shouldn't really concern you until it gets out of hand (too low/high). For most people, depends on a couple factors like height/metabolism, 115 - 160 can be considered healthy weight. 100lbs is borderline low/unhealthy.

No. Odds are your body is retaining extra fluids. Your body knows what it needs and if it's dehydrated it'll hang on to extra fluids which can give the APPEARANCE that you gained weight (which in a roundabout way you did, but only temporary). But many other factors can influence this such as sodium intake, bowel patterns and even sleep. Exercising and not seeing weight loss? Go take a dump and get a good night's sleep and you'd be surprised in the difference in you scale readings. 😆
